When a Fated Relationships Ends

Few things are more compelling than a fated relationship. There’s an insane attraction, laced with inevitability. You feel like you’ve known each other forever, even though you’ve only just met. You compare your charts, look at the Composite chart, and the past life/karmic connections are blatant. It’s just so obvious the two of you were meant to be together. So why does the relationship end? If the karmic pull is so strong, aren’t you supposed to spend the rest of your lives together?

First off, know that every romantic relationship is “fated” in some way. There’s a lesson for both partners in every encounter. But some connections definitely carry more weight. Sadly, the most intense relationships do not always equal lifetime commitment. Sometimes, once a partnership has fulfilled its purpose, it ends. Or, if one person gets in the way of the evolutionary agenda, it ends. But you can see these potential endings coming, via transits and progressions. This article will describe a few examples. Please note, these scenarios suggest that an ending is likely, but not guaranteed. My usual disclaimer: you must thoroughly analyze both natal charts, and the Composite chart, before you can draw a conclusion about anything.

  1. Ana M Oliveira says:

Hi, Nadia! Do you use the Composite Chart mid-point or with reference place?
For instance with the mid-point (for me and my partner) his moon is conjunct with Composite Ascendant; but if I use the ref. place Composite Chart my sun-mercury conjunct the Composite Descendant, because I was born in another country.
    Thanks

  2. Can this also pertain to a friendship? I met someone almost 5 yrs ago . It was definitely fated that we met. I felt a very deep connection instantly and it was a very intense platonic relationship. We worked together for almost 5 yrs. I had planned to keep in touch with this person forever, even if one of us would move away so to speak . I also planned to continue working with this person until I moved or they moved. I had a lunar eclipse in April 2013 in my 11th house. Transit saturn has been in my 11 th house and just left at the end of oct. 2013. We had an argument in the beginning of oct. and this person has never spoken/ contacted me again to this day. I knew within days of this happening that it was over between us and I had the realization that this person was never truly a “friend” to me. I actually felt like I was a caged bird that had just been set free. If someone had told me this was going to happen I would not have believed it and would have thought I’d be depressed from never working with this person again. I now 100% believe the universe had other plans and that “our time was up”, that I had completed what I needed to with this person and was to move on . The hardest thing was trusting in this and forcing myself to let go of the control of wanting to hold on to the relationship. Sometimes the universe knows more and you have to convince your ego of this LOL!

  3. Thanks, Nadia. Composite AC with my friend is Libra, so those years, saturn transited there. We were secret friends but there was one obstacle after another so we weren’t together but we both wanted to be. Saturn is half way through our 1H now, and it has been a new chapter since that began, we are still good to each other and still talking, but hard to know if this is the beginning of the end or if we will work out. Personally, I feel if we survived saturn in scorpio where other lifelong friends fell by the wayside, then we are stronger than we realise and there is more yet to be revealed.

Transiting south node is in Taurus 7H and it trines Comp mars in capricorn 3H. Otherwise, 7H is empty.

Composite pluto is 3deg Libra 11H. So opposite that would be aries 5H which has transiting uranus 9 deg. Is that within the orb of influence? My natal DC is 7 deg Aries. Do I look at that too in relation to this? Transiting pluto is 9deg Capricorn, so that’s a pluto/pluto square. No wonder I haven’t a clue and this is hard. Transiting venus is 7 deg capricorn, so that’s another square and a double-whammy as pluto/venus is happening for everyone right now. Transiting moon is in 5H but looks too far outside the orb.

We have composite uranus in Libra 12H. It certainly has been one surprise after another, there is just absolutely no knowing what’s next. It trines composite moon in aquarius 4H. Along with pluto transformations, this seems to be another factor. Everything that has happened has been hard or painful, but in the long run, all for the best and we are becoming better and stronger people.

Jupiter and north node are both in cancer in 9H. I thought this was the direction of the relationship, so I’m interested to read about pluto polarity. I know you need to see our chart for more info, but if there are any insights you have, I will gratefully hear them. Thanks, Nadia. 🙂

  4. I met someone around 6 months before Saturn was leaving my 12th house. Felt like a very plutonic or karmic connection. It burnt down a month or so before Saturn crossed my ASC. I have had to let go, I’m not sure if it’s over, but still had to let go regardless. It’s been very difficult. Is that typical of what you were describing with Saturn12th transit? Meeting someone during it & it ending during, too?

  5. @Ana M Oliveira
    Mid point, not reference place.

  6. @Sag Rising
Yes, absolutely. Because of the nature of this site, my article focus on romance. But friendships can be just as karmic, just as intense and have a specific purpose left over from a past life.

  7. @Kisses
TR Uranus is done with the Composite Pluto (it’s outside the orb of influence). Composite Uranus in the 12th can suggest hidden disruptions, difficult to handle because there’s not full awareness of them.

  8. @Glitter
    Yep, textbook Saturn/12th House transit.

  9. Thanks, Nadia. If this friendship has taught me anything, it’s that I can rely on my intuition and also to trust in a higher power and have faith. These are truths we don’t usually put much store by, but time and again over the years with my friend, they have proved accurate. So for me, along with the disruptions, uranus in the 12th is shining a light on what’s hidden, including within myself, my own buried truths. My friend is a bit psychic too, but he would be with natal uranus in his 12H. I literally only just realised this after I read your reply!

I have had one insight after another since I posted above. Quite the week this week! 🙂

  10. So, then I should probably assume that it is over & unlikely to resurrect? (since thats textbook i.e.)

  11. bc now that Saturn crossed my ASC i mean…

  12. @Glitter
Of course, I can’t make any pronouncements without seeing your chart and the other chart. So don’t presume anything. Saturn crossing the AC always brings a brand new chapter which consists of something else being left behind. That may or may not apply to this relationship.

  13. I believe there is a definite element of karma and fate which brings people together. The only love of my life so far who passed very young from this earthly realm was one of those. Both of us felt a soul connection and knew our time together would be limited.

When I look at our charts, I’m still not sure why it worked so well for us.

He – A Leo, with Venus in Virgo 19, Saturn in Libra at 37 and Pluto at 15
Me – A fish, with Venus in Aries 29, Saturn in Libra 26, and Pluto in Leo 21.

Maybe karma has its own intentions. But I hope for one more love to last the rest of my days here.

Thanks Nadia for this interesting article.

  14. Addendum to my note:

    Pluto in Leo at 15.

  15. What about Saturn conjunct the person’s natal South Node? Binding or separative ? What does the SN person have to resolve?

  16. Hi Nadia,

Thank you for yet another thought provoking article.

In our composite, Pluto is in the 2nd house. But when progressed, pluto stays in the 7th house for the most part of our adult lives. I met him when transiting Uranus was exactly opposite composite Pluto.

Will pluto show 2nd house themes or 7th house themes? And what can happen when a transiting benefic like Jupiter conjuncts composite Pluto?

  17. @Phyllis
    You’re welcome! 🙂

  18. @Novlady
Initially binding, but can become seperative if the SN feels held back. What the SN person has to resolve depends on their chart.

  19. @marion
Both (2nd and 7th House themes). The 2nd House is the main story (where the evolution occurs) the 7th House shows how the two of you have developed as a couple. Jupiter can expand everything Pluto stands for…”big” power/intensity/transformation.
