Tarot Tuesday: The Hairpin, Three Cards Around the Turn

Chiron stationed retrograde in Taurus yesterday. A station is not a straight road backward. It is the tight point where forward motion slows, the view changes, and the same landscape means something different on the return.
So today’s spread is dealt in that shape. Two cards at the top, wide apart. One card at the bottom between them, laid on its side, because the turn is where everything gets seen from a different angle. You do not cross the middle. You go down, around, and back up.
🫨 THE APPROACH: Five of Pentacles
A donkey stands with its head down beside a tipped basket, fruit scattered across the mud. There is a second basket right next to it, upright and full. The donkey is not looking at that one. This is the wound that taught you to count what spilled and stop counting there.
🐀 THE TURN: Eight of Swords
A star-nosed mole sits upright with its paws folded, eight swords driven into the mud around it. Nothing is tied. Nothing is touching. A mole cannot see well and has never needed to, because it knows the ground by feel. The question is not whether you are trapped. It is which of those blades you have been walking around for years without ever testing.
🐢 THE RETURN: Seven of Pentacles
A tortoise moves through a ruined stone archway while the fruit hangs ripening above it. This is not automatic perseverance. It is an assessment of what has grown, what has stalled, and what deserves another season of your care. Continuing is a choice now, not a reflex.
Read the two outer cards as the same place seen twice, before the turn and after it. The spilled basket and the ripening fruit are not different situations. They are the same one, looked at from opposite ends of the hairpin. What changes is you, in the middle, deciding which of those swords was ever really in the way.
