Tarot Tuesday: The Overlap, Three Cards, Stacked

Mercury meets Venus retrograde in Scorpio today. The planet of what you say sits directly on the planet of what you want, and the want is in review. So this week’s spread is not a line and not a turn. It is a stack, because that is what the sky is doing.
Three cards. The first goes down flat. The second is laid across it at an angle, covering half. The third goes on top, straight, covering half of the second. You read them from the top down, and the two underneath you read from the part left showing, because that is all you can see.
Deal it now if you have a deck. If you don’t, pull three at SASS Tarot and stack them the same way.
🐺 ON TOP, WHAT YOU SAY, MERCURY: Page of Swords
A pale wolf sits in the snow with its back to you, watching a sword planted upright in the drift, bare trees and storm cloud beyond. The Page of Swords speaks first and checks later: curious, quick, a little too honest. That is the sentence that comes out of you today. It is not wrong. It is early.
🐈 UNDERNEATH, WHAT YOU WANT, VENUS RETROGRADE: Six of Cups
A ginger cat sits in the window of a bookshop, shelves behind it, roses on the sill. The Six of Cups is what you wanted before: the old comfort, the earlier version, the person or the place you keep going back to in your head. Venus retrograde is six weeks of this card. Half of it is covered by what you said. That is the problem the spread is showing you.
🦝 AT THE BOTTOM, WHAT NEITHER OF THEM IS SAYING: Two of Swords
A raccoon in a blindfold holds two swords crossed over its chest in a dark forest. The Two of Swords is the choice you have arranged not to see. The other two cards lie across it, and what still shows is about as much of it as you have looked at. The top two cards are both about this one.
Now read the bottom card. If what you said and what you want agree, it is a detail and you can leave it half covered until November. If they disagree, it is the conversation, and you have already started it.
