Tarot Tuesday: The Doorway, Two Posts and a Lintel

A door is two posts with a piece laid across the top. Take away a post and the lintel comes down. Take away the lintel and you have two sticks in the ground.
Saturn is carrying weight from two directions today, one of them helpful and one of them not. That is the structural description of a doorway rather than a wall.
So today’s spread is three cards, and the shape is doing half the reading. Two cards upright, side by side, with a gap between them. Then turn the third card sideways and lay it across the top of both, bridging the gap.
Do not close the gap. The gap is the part you walk through.
Deal it now if you have a deck. If you do not, pull three at SASS Tarot and lay them the same way. Read left, then right, then the one on top.
🐿️ LEFT POST: Seven of Wands
A marmot stands upright on a rock while the sun comes up hard over the mountains behind him. He is small, he is by himself, and he has not moved. That is the whole card. This post is whatever pushes back on you today, and something will. The instruction is not to win the argument. It is to still be on the rock when the argument is finished.
🦌 RIGHT POST: Ace of Pentacles
A white oryx stands among pink blossom with its horns straight up and everything around it in bloom. Aces are beginnings, and this is the most solid of the four. It arrives as an actual offer, an actual number, an actual thing you can hold in your hand. This post is what you start anyway, while the other post is busy being pushed. The month’s real opening lands around the tenth. This card says have something ready to put into it.
🐘 THE LINTEL: Ten of Pentacles
Elephants stand in still water in front of a stone temple that has outlasted everyone who built it, and the whole scene doubles in the reflection. Tens are the end of a story. This one is about what continues after you: the house, the family, the thing that gets handed on. Turn it last, because it is what the other two are holding up.
Ask it the uncomfortable version of the question. Is the thing you are defending today, and the thing you start next week, actually load bearing? Or have you been propping up something nobody is going to want to inherit?
