First of all, like I said on numerous occasions last week, an eclipse will rarely kill you… so I’d like to thank you for taking my advice last week and returning here intact. We should all celebrate by throwing a big party, and since the Sun enters Leo on Monday, it’s going to be a good time for one of those.
The week is a good time to express love and affection in new ways (or to new people). On Wednesday, Mercury is conjunct Venus. This is one of those transits that can float by quickly without you noticing, but the energy is too juicy to pass up if you know it’s happening. Write a love letter. Make peace with someone you’ve been feuding with. Write a haiku asking your boss for a raise. Be creative.
Mars trine Jupiter is exact on Thursday. It makes all of Mars’ functions bigger and louder throughout the entire week. For purposes of finding new romance, that’s potentially great… although since Mars rules the sex drive, maybe I should have written that as “romance.” You get the picture. This is also a good time to pump new life into an existing situation, or (if there’s nothing on your romantic plate lately) take up a new activity. That can be a way to meet someone, can’t it?
The other major Mars news this week is Mars quincunx Saturn. If you’ve been reading my horoscopes here a long time, you’ll notice I rarely mention the quincunx. The reason is that the quincunx is considered a “minor aspect.” Minor aspects are more of a garnish or a spice than the main course, if you will. The quincunx can occasionally cause disruption, but for the most part it’s more of a nuisance than an actual threat. This week’s Mars-Jupiter aspect is making Mars a little louder than usual, and combined with Mars quincunx Saturn, there is a chance for tempers to blow up and misunderstandings to be intensified. Be careful with whom you try to pick a fight during the second half of this week.
If you are looking to liven things up with your romantic routine this weekend, help is on the way! On Saturday, Venus enters Leo. Yes, Venus in Cancer was sweet and nurturing, and that’s great. But come on, admit it: Sometimes it’s great to pump a little dramatic flair into your romantic life. Venus in Leo does wonders for that. And when in doubt with your love life, never forget the value of a surprise gift or a little flattery.
