There is a lot going on this week, both romantically and in general, and to be honest with you a lot of it is just plain weird.
We start with Mercury turning retrograde in Pisces on Tuesday. All of the usual warnings about communications and proofreading and short trips and signing agreements apply, as with any Mercury retrograde period. But it is worth noting that Pisces was a strange place for Mercury to begin with, and Mercury turning retrograde isn’t going to help any. Combined with an overall lack of aspects to Mercury this week, it’s a time to double down on “attention to detail.”
Wednesday is a day of fresh beginnings. First of all, a New Moon in Pisces is an excellent time to set your sights on the goals you want to achieve in the coming month. But much more significantly, Wednesday is the day that Uranus enters Taurus.
Uranus is going to be in Taurus until 2025, so there’s not much we can say that’s useful within the context of a weekly horoscope — except that with Venus now in early Aquarius, this sets up some interesting conditions. Although the aspect is not exact, Venus square Uranus will be a powerful (and not particularly stable) influence this week on love lives and finances. Since Venus and Uranus are each in a sign ruled by the other planet, this is what astrologers call a “mutual reception.” All of the usual romantic strangeness implied by Venus square Uranus might very well be doubled for you this week.
Fortunately, there is an island of stability in the middle of all this. Later in the week, the Sun joins the ongoing Saturn-Neptune sextile. Saturn sextile Neptune has been working away quietly in the background for the past couple of months, offering us a relatively unique opportunity to make our hopes and aspirations come about in a real and practical manner. Sun conjunct Neptune, which is exact on Wednesday, is an opportunity to take a deep breath and ask yourself what it is you really want out of life.
Finally, just to show you how unusual the astrological influences are this week: the biggest influence on love and romance isn’t exact until Sunday but influences the entire week anyway. Mars sextile Neptune is an excellent opportunity to get out and mingle with others, or to turn up the romance with an established relationship. The downside to this aspect, even though it’s the usually friendly sextile, is that it sets the stage for some potentially very unrealistic decisions. Sure, your encounter with that charming stranger on the weekend might lead to something big… or it might be a false alarm. And hey, let’s be honest: with Mercury retrograde in Pisces this week, who’s thinking clearly anyway?
