Year-End Party Season ends this week, and this is a time of year when many people have literal or figurative hangovers they just want to sleep off. Emotionally, that describes the mood for the upcoming weekend pretty nicely. But before we get to that, there is still New Year’s Day to get through… and that comes with plenty of potential for action.
On Monday, Mars enters Aries. This is usually considered to be a good placement for Mars, and overall as far as dating goes, it should serve to increase the urge to get out there and mingle. Mars in Pisces tended towards indecision and flip-flopping, and Mars can only put up with that sort of thing for so long. Of course, who you mingle with and how you choose to do it is entirely up to your discretion. By the way, Mars in Aries doesn’t do “discretion” particularly well, so be cautious of giving in to your impulses without stopping to think them through first. And if the whole “bold frontal assault” approach doesn’t work that well for you, Mars will be entering Taurus just in time for Valentine’s Day.
On Friday, Mercury enters Capricorn. That comes with a certain reputation for precision, intellectual rigor, and generally making sure you get your facts straight. This is a very good thing, because Mercury in Sagittarius had a bit too much of a tendency to lose its keys and forget important appointments.
For those of you who aren’t completely partied out after Christmas and New Year’s, the weekend will probably represent date night as usual. Unfortunately for you hardy few, this particular weekend is emotionally a bit of a mess. On Friday, there is a New Moon in Capricorn which is also a partial Solar Eclipse. The effects of an eclipse go beyond the scope of a weekly forecast, but I can tell you this much about this particular New Moon in Capricorn: pay attention to how things go in your personal life this weekend. This eclipse is within range of Pluto, and thus the upcoming Saturn-Pluto conjunction of 2020. Those gears have been grinding in your life for a couple of years now, and things are about to come to a head.
If none of this sounds like a particularly great time, you’re probably right. Fear not. Next week Uranus goes direct and then Venus enters Sagittarius. Hang on to your hat!
