Like a great historical adventure with a romance story at its core, this week in your personal relationships will be heavily influenced by large and powerful aspects shaping the entire world. Saturn trine Uranus is still happening, and that is driving the narrative where we try to find solid and dependable yet creative ways to build our lives towards something better.
But the groundwork we are given to perform that task isn’t terribly stable. Mars square Uranus, which I wrote about last week, is exact this week. For many, this will provide the drive and ambition to move forward with their relationships. Others may find a lot of agitation, or find their sex drives amplified in uncomfortable ways. But hey… what’s an epic historical romance without a few explosions?
When it comes to matters of love and romance, the first place most astrologers look is to Venus. Venus is in Scorpio, and in past I have pointed out how this is actually a much better place for Venus than many of the older sources give it credit. Venus in Scorpio certainly knows how to get what it wants, but perhaps isn’t the most subtle of placements. Given all the energies at work this week, the potentially demanding nature of Venus in Scorpio needs to be well-tempered.
How you navigate through this week is going to require a lot of brain power. That means Mercury, and Mercury is having a rough and erratic week. Early in the week, Mercury sextile Jupiter should make for smooth sailing as far as your thoughts, plans, and ideas.
If what you need is to make your case to a (real or potential) loved one, Mercury enters Libra on Friday and lends a hand with that. Mercury in Libra may not have the powerful analytical skills that Mercury in Virgo so famously has, but it’s a wonderful time to really express your feelings and try to tease out what you are really thinking.
That may be generally true of the next three weeks, but this particular weekend might be rough going for those of you trying to understand a loved one better. Mercury square Saturn is exact on Saturday, but hangs over the entire weekend like an intellectual cloud. Just remember: asking questions and trying to understand a partner may in theory be a good idea, but with Mercury square Saturn it’s all too easy to turn a simple question-and-answer conversation into a waterboarding session. Sometimes in a relationship you just have to accept that “I don’t know” is a valid answer from your partner… torture isn’t very likely to reveal any further accurate information.
