Love Horoscope for the Week of July 9

Venus enters Virgo on Monday, so it’s time for the traditional talk about how theoretically that’s a debilitated placement, because it’s opposite Pisces where Venus is exalted. I’m going to spare you that this year. If you don’t think that kindness and compassion and empathy are attractive, then you’ll just have to ride this one out. Come back when Venus is in Scorpio and you find yourself tied to a chair on a first date, okay?

In fact, I could go on and on about how badly Venus in Virgo is represented by some, but blathering at length long past the time when you made your point is really a Mercury square Jupiter kind of thing, which also is exact on Monday. So please forgive me if I’ve gone on too long about Venus in Virgo — but if you want to hear more… nah. I’ll spare you — this time.

Any planet that receives a trine from Uranus will tend to do its job with an extra tangy zip. That’s exactly the situation this week thanks to Venus trine Uranus, which is exact on Wednesday. If your romantic routine needs a little shaking up or refreshing, now is an excellent time to try out some new moves. What’s even more helpful in this case is that we will also be experiencing Venus trine Saturn this week, which is exact on Saturday. Whereas the Uranus aspects to Venus made things exciting, Saturn lends newfound strength and stability to your romances and your finances.

Let me make this perfectly clear: when Venus, Saturn, and Uranus form this rare and powerful Grand Trine in the Earth Signs, there is the potential for really great things to happen in a lot of people’s love lives. I recommend that you don’t just let these transits slide. Make a conscious effort to point things in the direction you want them to go, and then make it happen.

Of course, astrologically or otherwise, there ain’t no free lunch. This week also features Sun opposite Pluto, which happens on Thursday. That can make things a little tense and make people a little more likely to go around bruising each other’s egos. Try not to be a part of that, or at least try to be forgiving of yourself and others afterwards.

Also, if you are planning any new ventures (romantically or otherwise) steer clear of starting anything new on Tuesday… and I’m not just saying that because Tuesdays are kind of middling and low energy to start with. The Moon in Gemini on Tuesday makes a square to Neptune at 4 PM Eastern time, and then goes Void of course for nearly an entire day. That’s a real recipe for new ventures going terribly astray, or people getting delusional over the wrong thing (or the wrong person).
