Love Horoscope for the Week of July 30

Here we are, having successfully made it through last week’s Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius. Now, perhaps since Venus trine Pluto is still in effect for the first part of this week, it’s time to apply that deep need for love and affection and find someone that will comfort us given all the recent crazy astrological activity. Or, maybe since Mercury retrograde is in effect until August 19th, perhaps we should all just take some time to sit back and relax and not worry about other people and just take care of ourselves.

Not so fast there, buddy. Mars is here to make plenty of trouble for you yet.

Mars makes three important aspects that will influence the tone of your relationships throughout the week. First, Mars square Uranus might do wonders for your sex drive and that of others, but it’s not one of those, “Hey sexy, can I buy you a drink?’ sort of situations, so much as it’s one of those times where couples will end up having make-up sex after a knock-down drag-out argument. Yes, I know how much fun that sort of thing can be, but maybe this time you can find a way to get that sex without having the argument first.

And what are people arguing about? Well, given that Mars is still conjunct the South Node, many are dealing with issues from their past, and how they relate to the present (whether in reality or in imagination). That aspect is bad enough at stirring up old ghosts, but Mars sextile Chiron makes it even more likely that some old damage from the past will rear its head. Fortunately, the sextile is a relatively constructive aspect and with luck all these outbursts will lead us towards understanding and/or therapy rather than unnecessary breakups or breakdowns.

Not helping any of this at all is the fact that Mercury retrograde quincunx Pluto is more than likely to lead people to say the wrong thing at the wrong time during an outburst. I know you’ve got something important to say, but try not to be a jerk about it, okay?

So is there any hope for us? Well, of course there is. Venus enters Libra next week, and that will at least temporarily help to smooth things over. Just stay calm and keep your mouth shut until next week, meet me back here (in one piece) and I’ll tell you all about it…
