Love Horoscope for the Week of June 18

Do you have a love letter that you’ve been meaning to write, or an apology to make, or do you want to craft a clever haiku telling the landlord the rent is going to be late? You’re in luck this week, as Mercury in Cancer forms a grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune. Mercury trine Jupiter, which is exact on Tuesday, is a great time for big and bold thoughts and ideas and for finding ways to express them well. Mercury trine Neptune, which is exact on Wednesday, adds a softness and higher-mindedness to the mix.

In fact, things are going well enough for Mercury this week that if there is any persuasion required on your part to get your way with someone, you might want to take the time out to do that, as for most of the week Mercury opposite Pluto will also be in effect, despite the fact that this particular aspect doesn’t kick in until Saturday.

If nothing else, this should help if you need to apologize for some reckless sexual behavior this week. Venus opposite Mars, which is exact on Thursday but extends throughout the week, can be a really great time for trying out new things in bed. Or possibly new things with new people. Possibly lots of new things with lots of new people. My point here is that Venus opposite Mars is great for the sex drive but not terribly brilliant at making long-term love life decisions. On the other hand, if you’ve ever thought to yourself that what you really need is to get out there and, as my mother would have put it, “tramp it up”? You go right ahead… but don’t forget to use protection.

Now don’t get me wrong here: I am in no way shape or form against sexual activity in any of its manifestations, provided everyone is a consenting adult. But let’s not forget that sex has consequences, and while Venus is getting all that agitation from Mars it’s also going to be square Jupiter. Venus square Jupiter may not be exact until next Tuesday, but it’s going to be an influence this week as well. Even without the Mars aspect happening, Venus square Jupiter is not a time when people usually make their wisest decisions around their bed-mates or their love life in general. Venus square Jupiter can make you feel like you’re missing out on something, or that whatever it is you have on hand simply isn’t good enough. You may turn out to be right about that, but don’t make any impulsive decisions that will have long-term consequences…

…or at least if you do, for God’s sake make sure you don’t give anyone your real name or address.
