Love Horoscope for the Week of April 9

Good news, romance fans! If it’s new love you’re looking for, or if you’re looking to make an existing bond deeper, this week’s transits set the stage for it. When Venus has a good week, play along with her!

The week begins under the waning influence of Venus trine Saturn, and that’s probably a good thing. You may need some of that kindness and constructive attitude to deal with your co-workers on Tuesday night, when Sun square Pluto makes everyone a little more self-important and a little more dangerous than usual. You may find that your connection with others gets strained.

Of course, one way to undo the damage in an interpersonal relationship is to pour a little love on it. Sometimes that means compassion, and sometimes that means sex. If you find yourself in a situation that can be improved by a little physical contact, Venus trine Mars — which is also exact Tuesday night but is an influence throughout the week — is here to help you with that. All else being equal, a Venus-Mars aspect tends to make people a little more touchy-feely and a little hornier.

On the other hand, one needs to be a bit realistic when using that sort of energy. Another technically good aspect happening this week has an unfortunate downside: it may cause you to fall into an emotional trap with someone where otherwise you would know better. Venus sextile Neptune is exact Wednesday night. It’s entirely possible to fall in love with someone, but it’s also possible to fall in love with love itself and to subconsciously attach that feeling to the wrong person. As potential emotional traps go, however, this one is pretty sweet.

All of this sets the stage for a lot of potential romantic drama on the weekend. The biggest aspect of the week is exact on Saturday: Jupiter sextile Pluto makes both this week and next week an excellent time for you to take a look at the big picture going on in your life, especially when it comes to your relationships and commitments. It’s also a great time to pray, meditate, or take on any project that will make both you and the world a better person/place to be.

When all else fails, sometimes what is needed is a fresh start. Astrologically, a New Moon is an excellent time to dedicate yourself to a new goal, and Sunday gives us that opportunity with a New Moon in Aries. Everyone deserves a fresh start now and then, and Aries — first and boldest of the twelve signs — is all about new beginnings. Seize the day!
