Love Horoscope for the Week of October 16

The week starts out pleasantly enough, with Sun sextile Saturn on Monday. This might be a good time to do something good for yourself that you may have put off until now… or do it for that certain special someone who’s had a hard time of late.

Mercury enters Scorpio on Tuesday. There are all sorts of cliches about Scorpio out there, and not all of them are true all of the time for every Scorpio. On the other hand, if you were thinking that between now and November 5th would be a particularly good time for either some straightforward, penetrating conversation or simply a few naughty text messages, you could very well be right. Throughout the week Mercury will be within conjunction range of Jupiter, which entered Scorpio last week, so if there is such a thing as writing your loved one an amusing yet pornographic letter, now is the time. That Mercury-Jupiter conjunction is exact on Wednesday.

Tuesday also sees the most significant aspect of the week — one that hangs over everything this week and could make your sex drive and your ambitions a little… well, weird and unpredictable. Mars quincunx Uranus is bound to have a powerful effect on many a sex drive. This could also prove to be a good time for a little experimentation if you are in a relationship that could use a little new energy and/or sexual excitement pumped into it. Otherwise, just make sure you clear your browser history: who knows what weird stuff you’ll be watching this week?

Normally I refer to the weekend as “date night,” but if you want to set the stage for an actual relationship with someone new, or make an existing situation more committed, you might want to move date night to Thursday. That’s when a New Moon in Libra is occurring, and again Uranus is involved. New Moons are always a good time to start a new project or an initiative, and since Mars is still in the final of degrees of Virgo, your ability to calculate your shots before you take them will probably be better than usual. Just be careful not to apply too much force: Mars is still within square range of Saturn.

Finally, on Sunday, Mars enters Libra. In theory, this is a “debilitated” placement, but anyone who has known many Libras in their time know that they can be maniacs when they put their minds to it. Mars might be more comfortable in a less diplomatic sign than Libra, but often it’s better to pay attention to how you apply force rather than to how much you apply. Just remember that between now and December 9th you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar… but even vinegar will catch you more flies than using a hand grenade will.
