Love Horoscope for the Week of August 7

Yes, the rumors are true: there is a Lunar Eclipse at 15 degrees Aquarius on Monday. No need to automatically panic: click here for the details then decide for yourself if you need to panic or not.

The week is dominated by several significant aspects, three of which are exact on Thursday. Two of them are gentle and pleasant and can help you make important gains in your social life and romances, and one of them is just plain weird. Mercury sextile Venus is an easy-to-overlook aspect — no one has ever run in terror from a Mercury or Venus transit, have they? But put together, they can be put to good use getting your point across in a gentle, creative, and easy to swallow manner. This is a great time to write a love letter… or to proposition someone in a way that doesn’t seem quite so blatant.

Once you’ve sent that message, feel free to soak up the good times that tend to come with Sun sextile Jupiter. All else being equal, this aspect tends to make whatever is happening in your life a little more fun. Regardless of the state of your love life, try to get out and soak up that vibe while it lasts.

The third aspect happening on Thursday that influences the entire week is a weird one: Mars quincunx Neptune. On the one hand, this can make for interesting and unusual attractions, and can lead you to explore the spiritual side of life in new and unexpected directions. On the other hand: good luck making sense of your sex drive and your ambitions, which could well be pointed in wildly inappropriate directions. Then again, maybe your love life needs a little something or other “wildly inappropriate.” If that’s the direction you take, please: use protection, and don’t give away your home address.

Also (speaking of Mercury): now is the time to show caution with any outstanding business related to agreements, communications, and short trips. That’s right… it’s Mercury retrograde time again! Mercury goes retrograde on Saturday, with all the difficulties that implies. Remember: it’s a better time to research investment options (literally and figuratively) than to sign on the bottom line. And hey, astrology fans — let’s be positive about it this time, okay? Don’t gripe about Mercury Retrograde when you get lost following bad directions or screw up on that loan application… instead, when that sort of thing happens to someone else, smile and offer to teach them about Mercury Retrograde. You might help spread the Good News about astrology to someone new! Just don’t be smug about it and act like you knew all along that would happen. That’s what astrologers are for.
