Love Horoscope for the Week of July 31

Once again as an astrologer I am called upon to perform my four-times-a-year duty of calming and reassuring everyone that although there is an upcoming Eclipse, that doesn’t mean anything shocking or startling will happen. Well okay let’s be honest, “shocking and startling” events often are associated with eclipses, but don’t necessarily have to be bad.

But first, some general indicators about how your love life should be running this week. Venus is in the early degrees of Cancer and Mars is in the first third of Leo. Cancer and Leo are kind of an odd couple, but one that can work sometimes. Cancer lends a certain sweetness and sentimentality to Venus, and Mars loves the extra bit of dramatic flair it gets from being in Leo. Work well with those energies and your love life should make advances. Keep that in mind a couple of paragraphs from now when I start talking about the Lunar Eclipse and you feel like panicking, okay?

On Thursday, Uranus turns retrograde. The further a planet is from the Sun, the less I worry about its retrogrades. Having said that, now may be a time to be particularly cautious if you feel like doing something bold, unusual or unexpected. The upside of this is that before Thursday, Uranus is stationary. In theory, this makes it more powerful–so if you have a brilliant idea early in the week, feel free to act on it.

The weekend brings a little common sense and stability to your emotional state with Moon in Capricorn through Friday and Saturday, and goes quietly and peacefully Void of Course for most of Sunday. Don’t try to get anything new started–find someone you want to spend time with and creatively loaf.

Now–about that Lunar Eclipse. The Eclipse happens Monday the 7th at 15 degrees Aquarius. In and of itself, the effects of any given Eclipse are hard to predict without looking at individual birth charts, but this one has some prominent features going for it. It’s opposite Mars (which brings potential for outbursts and breakdowns), but it’s trine Jupiter (which tends to make for optimism and good cheer). If 15 degrees Aquarius makes a major aspect to an important point in your individual birth chart, this may provide a significant breakthrough in your life that you needed. Oh, what fun!
