Love Horoscope for the Week of July 10

What’s with all the big Egos tripping all over each other at work on Monday? Part of it is for reasons stated below, and part of it is Sun opposite Pluto. This aspect can make those who sometimes get rubbed the wrong way likely to get even more, um… rubbed. Don’t play into anyone’s personal dramas if you can avoid it, and extract yourself as quickly and cleanly as possible if you can’t.

This week’s biggest astrological news isn’t this week at all, but hangs over it all like an unexploded bomb. No, I’m not talking about last Sunday’s Full Moon opposite Mars and conjunct Pluto (although that was bad enough, thank you) — but that’s part of the story. Mars is pulling away from the opposition but it’s approaching the square to Uranus. Whereas Mars opposite Pluto (still having some effect, remember) makes tempers run hotter and closer to the surface, Mars square Uranus is more erratic, more explosive, and potentially a lot more dangerous to your relationships. Since Mars square Uranus isn’t even exact until next week (but messes with both weeks), you’d better take some notes now on how to deal with this energy.

First of all, it’s important to recognize that although Mars was named after the God of War, it rules a lot more than just aggression. Mars is also involved with physical energy and activity. Within the context of romance, that can mean sex. Potentially, lots of new and or different and/or exciting sex. This can be good news for a relationship that has been ongoing for a while, where things start to lag in the bedroom. If you’re not in a regular relationship at the moment, you might want to try finding an astrologically-minded workout partner for mutual benefit. Tell him or her that your astrologer sent you. And if that’s a little too bold for your tastes, try exercise. Sometimes even getting up and walking away for a few minutes before continuing a conversation can prevent a serious relationship blunder.

Likewise, there are ways to handle the Uranus energy involved in this aspect. Uranus is creative and rebellious and eccentric. The Mars-Uranus square may provide you with a lot of fresh energy to apply to long-standing obstacles or projects that have stalled. Just try to use a little rationality and common sense in order to prevent pouring out too much of the wrong energy on the wrong project… or the wrong person.

Even though the Mars-Uranus situation intensifies towards the end of the week, the weekend will offer a bit of relief for you and your potential loved one. Early in the weekend, Moon in Aries is always good for blowing off steam. Sunday evening’s Moon in Taurus is pleasant and restful. But whatever you do, make sure you get yourself to church or temple or mosque or meditative retreat late afternoon/early evening Sunday — that’s when Moon in late Aries will be conjunct Uranus and square Mars, and you may need all the help you can get.
