Love Horoscope for the Week of April 24

You know that feeling you’ve had for the last few weeks… that sneaking suspicion that you should break your routine and grab life by the horns (if only you could find those horns, somehow?). That’s the ongoing effect of Jupiter square Pluto. Square aspects to Pluto are always a little disruptive and unsettling one way or another, and the square from Jupiter is a special case. It’s definitely the “good cop” in this otherwise challenging combination. Think of this as a time when you could end up smashing a lot of things, but with a little discernment, at least you’ll be smashing the right things. Hopefully.

What’s needed to make the most of this aspect is a little planning and patience, and fortunately this week provides the opportunity for that. Wednesday’s New Moon in Taurus comes will all the solidity and stability you’d expect from any Double Bull aspect, but New Moons are special. It’s a time when new initiatives are more likely to take root and grow — and Taurus has an association with (literally) growing things.

Other than that, the week offers few surprises and thrills until the weekend. Mars in early Gemini continues to talk a good game in your (real or potential) relationships, and Mercury Retrograde in Aries continues to help you pick the wrong words and the wrong timing. Nonetheless, the week offers relatively few obstacles compared to previous weeks. Then the weekend hits — and it all changes.

On Friday, Venus enters Aries. If you look up the standard interpretations for places Venus can go through, you’ll soon find some low opinions of Venus in Aries. Venus in Pisces was all sweet and dewy-eyed. But Venus takes on a different character in Aries. She’s more of a wild child, not afraid to tell a risqué joke or flash a bit of leg to get the attention of her intended. And you know what? Turns out that’s a damned fine look for our Goddess of Love. If you’re looking for romantic success this weekend, aim for adventurous and outgoing. Serious conversation could lead to deep emotional outpourings, but you might want to avoid that sort of thing this weekend. With Moon in Cancer Saturday evening and all of Sunday, the emotions that surface could be more painful than pleasurable. Adding to that potential is Saturn square Chiron, which has been in effect for a while but is exact on Sunday. Avoid trying to pry too much into someone else’s feelings, and keep your own skeletons securely locked in their closets for now.
