Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Capricorn Compatibility

Sun-Moon CompatibilitySun in Aquarius’ disdain for convention will not sit well with Moon in Capricorn, but both of these signs have a desire for independence that should create a mutual understanding. However, between Aquarius’ detachment and Capricorn’s emotional restraint, this relationship can get a bit chilly.

Sun in Aquarius lives by his own rules. He may or may not be an obvious rebel, but chances are there’s a part of his life where he insists on following his own eccentric path. Even if he gets married or commits to a relationship that looks to be conventional on the outside, his lover will quickly learn that he must have the freedom to follow his own routine. Sun in Aquarius’ detachment can sometimes be mistaken for lack of engagement in the relationship, as he greets his partner’s expressions of love, anger or sadness with a similar response: friendly curiosity or concern. However, he can love just as deeply as any other sign. He’s simply not big on gushing displays of emotion.

Moon in Capricorn needs rules to live by. Structure and convention make her feel safe, and she’ll apply some fairly rigid rules to her domestic environment (with her as the CEO). Moon in Capricorn welcomes commitment, and is a dependable partner. However, if her lover is looking for deep, emotional bonding or endless cuddles, she may not be the one for him. Control (which some would describe as coldness) characterizes her emotional responses. She needs no one but herself, and sometimes forgets that her partner may not be built this way. On the plus side, this means that she genuinely wants (rather than needs) to be with the lover she chooses to commit to.

Moon in Capricorn will feel at ease with Aquarius’ cool touch. Sun in Aquarius will appreciate Capricorn’s self-sufficiency, but will find her insistence on tradition to be boring and suffocating. Meanwhile, Moon in Capricorn will feel threatened by Aquarius’ flouting of her carefully planned domestic regime. Warmth and passion may be lacking (unless provided by other planetary contacts). But depending on the type of partnership they’re looking for, this union of two strongly independent souls could work out.
