Some natal charts contain a concentration of energy — an exclusive focus that colors all areas, including relationships. The approach to relationships will steered by this energy, no matter what else is happening in the chart, or what synastry connections are being made. This powerful force is called a “stellium,” and if you or your partner have it, know that it’s a force to be reckoned with.
The technical definition of a stellium is a grouping of four or more planets in the same sign or house. You can have a stellium that stretches across two houses, as long as it’s in the same sign, and vice versa. Even if the planets are too far out of orb from each other to be conjunct, there is a transfer of energy from one planet to the next. Think of it as one giant conjunction. There’s an obsessive quality to a stellium that will dominate your outlook on relationships. Lack of compromise can also be an issue, because your perspective is blinkered.
Questions on this article are welcome in the comments section, but I won’t be offering interpretations of natal stelliums. Analyzing a blend of planets is simply too complicated, and requires a full consultation.
