The Nodes Enter Aries/Libra: New Steps in the Relationship Dance

The transiting Nodes have now changed signs. The South Node has shifted from Taurus to Aries, and the North Node from Scorpio to Libra (the Nodes move backwards). Depending on the calculations used, this shift happened on February 18th (True Nodes) or March 22nd (Mean Nodes). Astrologer Steven Forrest describes the technical differences in this article. Regardless of the date, the meanings of the transiting Nodes remain the same. The South Node highlights areas that are coming to fruition, so that we (the collective) can move forward from those issues. Where we move to is described by the transiting North Node. Let’s explore the impact this shift may have on relationships, for everyone.

very cool article, thank you. my natal mars is 12 libra in my 9H saturn is 15 libra, near my 18 degree MC. my natal venus is 5 gemini in my 5H (ruled by taurus) but conj my 6H cusp. my sun is 7 cancer and my NN is 13 cancer in my 7H (DC is 25 gem). my pluto is 24 libra and my moon is 28, in 10H.

my hope to become committed gemini partner, lol, has his venus and mars conj at 4 and 7 cancer, and his NN at 26 cap, jupiter at 7 cap. his moon is 12 libra and uranus 13 (eek). sadly, dont know his houses.

im def dealing with how i relate with him to get my goals and expectations met. hopefully this shift is happening at the right time for us to experience growth.

  2. “The other thing to remember about Libra: Before the balance point is located, extremes are experienced. Immediate harmony is not a guarantee. People may explore the far ends of the relationship spectrum with submissiveness, or complete avoidance of conflict.”

Such a coincidence, I was thinking about this today with regards to my relationship with my friend. I have let go for now, I figure if it’s meant to be, it will work out. I was looking back, reflecting on things, and I was wondering about this. All of the above. I noticed a dance where we stepped forwards, then back. Clear attraction then pretending otherwise. He avoids conflict, and I think we can both be submissive at times. Of course, my first response was to blame, either myself or him. I hadn’t thought about Libra.

After the saturn in Libra years, and also now Scorpio (my sun), and with uranus transiting my Aries 7H, I feel my old way of being has been taken away and now I am being asked to consider marriage and commitment. I never thought I would reach this point. At first, I was resistant, I didn’t feel ready anyway. But now, my old way of relating no longer feels right, it doesn’t even feel comfortable, and being closer and more honest does. My NN is in Gemini, and I have to say, I am both curious and fascinated! 🙂

I am not sure I understood the final sentence, about natal mars and venus. Mine are conjunct in Sag 3H, 16 and 19 degrees respectively. Thanks, Nadia 🙂

Good luck…this shift will definitely set things in motion.

Your natal planets that rule the signs the transiting Nodes are in represent the issues in your life that the TR Nodes are activating. I’ve written about this on my blog.

This is very interesting indeed! For the past 7 months I have been “with” this guy, he’s a sun sign cancer. The main issue I have with him is he doesn’t want to commit! Our other big issues involve both money and sex. It’s so strange because I have never dealt with a relationship such as the one I am in. I guess we both feel that we don’t give each other what we want in bed. Money wise, he makes a lot more than I do, I am just a poor student, so a lot of times he pays the bill when we go out. On the other hand I am constantly driving to see him as he lives in the next town. Typically I stay the night and I always have to rearrange my schedule to accommodate seeing him. I kind of felt like him paying for dinner and me having to drive all the time was a fair trade, but he doesn’t thinks so. It feels like a power struggle, and we are both trying to get our needs met in a way, but we are at an impasse. Our composite chart has both Pluto and Saturn in the 8th house, not sure if that is why we are experiencing this. Anyway, I can see the ‘balance” and the “me first” theme in my current romantic situation.
