Mars Retrograde in Libra’s Impact on Aquarius and Gemini Relationships

In last week’s article, I explored the impact of Mars retrograde in Libra on the cardinal signs. These signs are most intensely affected, because Mars is making hard aspects (conjunction, opposition or square) to cardinal planets, angles or points. But Mars is also trining planets, points or angles in Aquarius and Gemini. A trine is more subtle; you need to be aware in order to take advantage of it. But this Rx transit can be quite positive for Air sign relationships. The key word with a trine is “enable” — the smooth flow of energy assists developments. Read on to see how Aquarius and Gemini can make the most of this influence in their love lives.

  1. Ana M Oliveira says:

Thank you, Nadia for writing this post about the trine of transit Mars Rx.
I can identify very well the two signs once I have Saturn in Aquarius and a conjunct Sun-Mercury in Gemini (the latter being the ruler of the 7th House).

  2. My NN is Gemini 4 degrees, outside the zone, however, my friend has vanished since I asked how he feels and what he wants. He does this a lot and it usually lasts about 3 weeks (sun and mars Cap). He is seeing someone else but it doesn’t seem serious and he hasn’t let me go, so I want to know why. So I want to know if this is viable or not. I know it seems not, but I also know there’s a bigger picture.

He has progressed mars, sun and mercury in Aquarius in the zone. Maybe Mars Rx will help him see how he impacts me and others. His 7H is Taurus/Gemini. He has natal venus and mercury in Sag. Mars Rx sextiles his mercury right now. Our composite chart has moon in Aquarius 4H, different degrees depending on midpoint or Davison.

My other air signs relationships are much improved, though! Things are smoother and happier. 🙂 Thanks, Nadia.

  3. I don’t have any planets in Gemini but I do have the Aquarius stellium having been born in 1962.

Thank you for posting this. I was thinking about what you wrote a while ago about the trine aspect. Other astrologers I’ve read tend to push the trine as a beneficial aspect that much more distinguishable/noticable. However, I agree with you that it’s something that you have to look to your own life to see how it’s affecting you. Personally, in my case, I think it takes some of the *edge* off of the square to my Mars in Cap. and my MC.

I think trines are a good “selling point” for positive astrological predictions, because no astrologer (that I’m aware of) actually enjoys laying out bad news. When there’s tough transits, locating a trine and concentrating on that reads better to the public. But, I also think it’s a mistake to assume that people will notice the trines immediately (unless its a whopper, like a Grand Trine).

  5. @Ana
    You’re welcome!

  6. @Kisses
Glad to hear your other Air sign relationships are flowing forward. I think this is a good time for anyone with any Air sign planets/points.

  7. Hi Nadia,

My MC is at 16 Aquarius. My partner’s super tight venus-mars conjunction is at 16 Gemini. So these two points trine each other. When Rx mars hits 16 Libra in mid april, we will have a grand trine.
But on the exact day Mars also quincunxes his natal Mercury (ruler of Gemini) as well as his AC which is at 16 Taurus.

It is a bit spooky that on the same day (i.e 15th April) there will be a transiting lunar eclipse at 26 Libra exactly squaring our composite Sun-South Node conjunction at 26 Cancer.

Nadia, my question is on QUINCUNX. What is your experience with transiting mars quincunxing planets (specially clockwise quincunx) because in vedic astrology they say mars has a very special 8th aspect. What are your views from a western astrology perspective?

    Thank you.

  8. @marion
My view is that actions (Mars) are not quite appropriate or effective in relation to the chart they are aspecting.
