Astrology Truth or Myth: Moon Square Venus Means A Lifetime Of Unsatisfying Relationships

Moon Square Venus Means a Lifetime of Unsatisfying Relationships

Natal Moon square Venus in a man’s chart is considered a romantic red flag. Some astrologers interpret it as a life characterized by unsatisfying partnerships. Read on to discover why—and if this is even true.

Moon Square Venus

In anyone’s chart, the Moon represents emotions, and Venus represents love and attraction. In a man’s chart, these planets represent the women in his life. If you want to get into archetypes, think Mother (Moon) and Lover (Venus). When these planets form a difficult (square) aspect, the types of women a man is comfortable with (Moon) clashes with the types of women he is attracted to (Venus). This clash is what many see as a romantic red flag.

Because a square creates tension, a man with this aspect between Moon and Venus will be driven to fix it. He will be on an endless search for the “right” partner. Ideally, she’ll tick all the boxes by giving him those childhood, emotional dynamics while pulling him away from his past. This is impossible, of course. Before he can find a partner that makes him happy, he’ll need to confront his internal dynamics.

I’ve seen this aspect trigger romantic difficulties in the charts of male clients. The key is (usually) the relationship with Mom; Venus becomes the outlet to rebel against his mother’s influence. But the Moon’s energy, with its ties to the past, is not easy to break away from. Does this aspect guarantee an unsatisfying love life? Not if it’s dealt with. For someone who is willing to work on his issues, the square can create impetus for change.

Example: Moon in Scorpio

[ad]For example, a Moon in Scorpio man will feel “at home” with intense, controlling women. His mother was certainly powerful, and she was probably emotionally invasive. His Moon describes his primary emotional template, positive or negative. But his Venus is in Aquarius, squaring his Moon. He is attracted to women who are independent and detached. He is used to the depth of Scorpio but is drawn to the distant call of Aquarius. But when he’s in relationships with emotionally detached women, he feels dissatisfied.

Mr. Moon in Scorpio square Venus in Aquarius needs to figure out what kind of emotional control (Scorpio) he is rebelling against (Aquarius). What is his deepest fear and what is his deepest emotional craving? They are probably connected (or even the same thing). The Moon’s house position and other natal aspects can provide more information. Once he is no longer in full-on escape mode from his past, he’ll find it easier to attract (Venus) a partner that fits his needs. He’ll always have that tension, but a resolved Moon/Venus square has the ability to search for love in healthier ways.

My boyfriend has this aspect. Moon in Scorpio/Venus Aquarius. His Sun is also Aquarius.

My Sun and Venus is in Scorpio and my moon is in Aquarius.. does that make things a little easier regarding this aspect?

    Thanks

I’m a woman with moon in scorpio with a 3 degree square to venus in Aquarius and have always had issues with women. Either they like me in a more than platonic way or they hate me and try to bully me. My mother is very strong and dominating and I have also had issues with the female from my past partners families. I really crave female close friendships but haven’t had any since
I was young. Also,I have been single for 5 years and are truly miserable. If I send you my natal stats can you tell me if there is marriage for me in this lifetime?

I was looking for the definition of Moon square Venus with any gender… but interestingly enough, I’m a girl with a Scorpio Moon square Aquarius Venus. Just what you wrote about. Does this change significantly when I’m a girl?

I was with a man that had this Moon in Taurus/Venus in Leo, for some reason I am the longest relationship he ever has had. The first 3 years were fine then we started breaking up, sometime it was him breaking it off with me, sometime me breaking it off with him….off and on for several years…I would try to tell him, nothing is ever going to be perfect. You have to work on things/issue and he did have issues with his mother. I broke it off with him after Thanksgiving and he tried to get back with me for several months, but he could never really open up his heart, really let himself go…anyway once that didn’t work he met someone else, wonder if it will last. He’s already contacted me about a health issue and I don’t think it’s the last I will hear from him.

I dated a capricorn sun/rising with scorpio moon/ aquarius venus. He couldn’t handle my intensity although I get him, he seem to like air venus or sun in women.

I’m a sagittarius with Pisces moon/rising, venus in scorpio. so in love I’m deep and intense. I’m learning to transform and be lighter in love – easy because of my go with the flow piscean energy.

He is seeing a therapist for couple of years to solve his childhood/mother issue. he was diagnosed : emotionally unavailable.

There was this guy I liked previously. He has this aspect in his chart. He is a Sagittarius Sun, Rising & Mercury, with an Aries Moon, Capricorn Venus (very late Capricorn Venus. Could possibly be an Aquarius Venus, depending on the exact time he was born), and Libra Mars. His Aries Moon is in Square with his Capricorn (possibly very early Aquarius) Venus.

He’s dated women who were manipulative and emotionally abusive and who cheated or played with his heart. There’s one in particular who he hasn’t moved on from (it’s been years. She’s 2 years younger than us both. She’s an Aries Sun, Scorpio Moon, idk her Rising, but she’s a Taurus Mercury, Pisces Venus & Capricorn Mars. She has manipulated, lied compulsively to him, and has messed him up.

While I’m an Aquarius Sun, Gemini Moon, Pisces Rising & Mercury, Aries Venus & Scorpio Mars. Ironically, I have this in my chart too. Moon Square Venus. He’s talked to me on & off. Last year, I liked him, he dismissed me. Couple months after he rejected me, he reaches out to me apologizing about being cold and pushing me away and blowing me off. Which I wasn’t expecting. And we talk for about a week. He ends up confessing to me that he felt the same way. That he really liked me. But, he couldn’t be with me Bc he’s emotionally messed up, has trauma and just a lot of baggage and wasn’t in a mentally stable mindset to be dating, and also Bc he still was not over the one ex (mentioned above) even though he had anger and pain toward her too (total toxicity right there). So he let me go. And I let him go too. Fast forward months later, a guy that was friends with the Sagittarius guy starts talking to me, and is now my boyfriend (he’s a Virgo Sun & Rising, Capricorn Moon, Libra Mercury & Venus & Leo Mars). And well things are sorta complicated too (he also has some trauma as well but wants to move past that and not let it define him or run his life). And well, a couple weeks ago, the Sagittarius guy friend requests me on Snapchat. I waited a week before accepting. He’s messaged me once so far (wasn’t really a text, it was a snap, but he was at some game). So idk.

It’s weird. Idk if he’s jealous that I’m with this other guy now (they used to be friends, but aren’t anymore, but not Bc of me. They’ve been that way for years now. We all went to high school together). Or idk if he’s trying to look out for me (the Sag guy). But it’s weird. The Sag guy definitely struggles with women, and I know his mom is reason for his trauma.

And I too, have problems with other women. My mom has always been there for me physically and emotionally. Which is weird that I have this square in my chart between my Gemini Moon (at 23°) & Aries Venus (at 1°). My Moon falls in my 4th house, my Venus falls in my 1st house. For the Sag guy, his Aries Moon falls in his 4th house too, and his Capricorn Venus falls in his 1st house as well.

As for my boyfriend (the Virgo guy), his Capricorn Moon falls in his 5th house, while his Libra Venus falls in his 2nd house. He has Moon trine Mercury, Moon trine Saturn, and Moon conjunct Neptune. He has Venus trine Uranus, Venus sextile Pluto, and Venus trine Jupiter.

What would this mean? Sorry this is so long, but would appreciate some guidance on this between me and these 2 guys (my Virgo boyfriend, and the Sag guy I used to like/former friend of my Virgo boyfriend).
