Love Horoscope for the Week of January 23

Weird and Wired. How else to describe this peculiar week? On the one hand, we’re treated to a world of fresh possibilities, courtesy of a New Moon in futuristic Aquarius. But Mars—that get up and go planet—turns retrograde the very same day as the New Moon occurs. This all goes down on Monday.

Gentle Virgos or those with Virgo Rising: you’re going to feel this energetic standoff more keenly than most. That’s because Mars is doing the backstroke in your sign. Your physical vitality may be subdued this week but, once you get with the Mars retrograde program, you’ll find your mojo again. Meanwhile, the New Moon tantalizes you with hopes of more exciting activity on a daily basis. But will you have the wherewithal to make the most of it?

For the rest of the zodiac creatures: this twelve-week cycle marks an important point where it’s necessary to attend to all of the details before proceeding. Have you got your ducks lined up? Do you have a strategy if you intend to win that job or woo that wowser?

Mars energizes the libido too, folks. The retrograde phase is a reminder that, before getting hot and heavy, you’ve gotta get permission. If you’re with someone who’s in an altered state, don’t move in for the kill, ‘kay?

Now, about that New Moon: even it’s sending mixed messages about whether to rein it in, or to go big or go home. Treat each situation differently and trust yourself.
