Uranus will soon be in Aries, and those of us with Libra Suns and Ascendants need to start seriously thinking about how that is going affect our lives, and most importantly, our relationships. I have been taking peeks at the possibilities out of the corner of my eye, but until recently have been reluctant to think about the ramifications in depth.
What it comes down is that there will be a whole lot of energy funneled into our one-on-one relationships, both personal and professional. Uranus in Aries is fresh, new and all about me, in direct contrast to Libra’s need to take other’s thoughts and feelings into consideration.
If you are single and looking, then brace yourself, because chances are pretty good the people who dash into your life will be both unusual and very energetic. (Remember, Jupiter is also going to be along for the party from early June until early September 2010 and returning in late January through June 2011.) Unless you love the idea of doing something like jumping on the back of a Harley and heading out for parts unknown, be very cautious about accepting a date with someone who describes themselves as adventurous.
Those of us who are happily married or otherwise committed may end up wondering what got into our partners, because there is a good chance that they’ll be behaving out of character. Someone you thought to be staid and settled may suggest taking a cruise to Tahiti or classes in salsa dancing!
However, if you or your partner are dissatisfied with the relationship as it has been, this is the transit to bring everything out in the open for better or worse. Libra in general is pretty good at avoiding painful discussions for the sake of peace, but the pressure Uranus in Aries will bring to bear won’t allow that to continue. Sometimes a good dose of Aries bluntness and honesty is what is necessary to clear the air. Keep in mind: to make good decisions, you need all the best information.
Change in Store for the Cardinal Signs
Also, Uranus in Aries will be giving Libras (as well as Cancer and Capricorns) a refresher course in what it means to be a cardinal sign. Cardinal signs are the movers and shakers, self-starters and the ones who inspire others to take action. Libra can be tough-minded and decisive when they need to be, as well as top-flight negotiators.
If you have a Libra Sun or Ascendant in the early degrees, or planets and angles in the early degrees of any of the cardinal signs, this next year is going to keep you hopping. Change can be very positive, even if disruptive. I am reminding myself almost every day to do my best to avoid expectations of certain outcomes, because no one can predict which way Uranus will jump, particularly in Aries.
Uranus will return one last time to Pisces from mid-August 2010 to early March 2011, allowing us to assimilate the events of this summer and find a measure of balance. I bet I will not be the only Libra looking around my life and asking, “What the heck just happened?”
