Kim Farnell studied the charts of 40 people known to be great lovers, and found that “indicators for sexual prowess in a chart are an emphasis on the 5th house combined with Jupiter, and contacts between Mars/Venus/Saturn.” Check out her article Astrology, Sex and Great Lovers — it’s not for beginners, but it’s an interesting read for those familiar with aspects, rulerships and exaltations, and the like.
Tip of the hat to isthmus, who linked to the above article in her post about a friend with a prolific love life.
So I admit it – I started giggling in the middle of reading. Then I started to think about all people with Venus/Mars conjunction I know. Now I’m seriously confused.
What are you confused about?
I dated someone who has a Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries, which falls in my 5th house of “recreational sex.” That explains too much…
“in the case of females… should Venus be conjoined or configurated with Mars alone, she will render women licentious and lustful.”
I find that people with Venus/Mars conjunction identify strongly love with sex – the one can’t exist without the other, so very often they have “all or nothing” approach to relationships (oh yes, if they get all, it usually also means “a lot” and “all the time”). Generally, they’re rather not people for casual relationships.
Uh, I could write a lot about this aspect.
Preach, Fiametta! I couldn’t keep up with this Venus-Mars conjunction guy. It was like he was addicted/obsessed. And lots of energy! He was very all-or-nothing about relationships. Couldn’t see anyone else’s POV if his life (or relationship) depended on it. I thought it was due to his Leo Rising/Scorpio Moon/Taurus Mercury (stubborn, fixed, etc.), but maybe this has something to do with it, too.
Hopefully, Kim writes a part 2 article about aspect patterns in sex addicts’ charts.
Venus/Mars in Aries AND Scorpio Moon AND Leo rising? I can only imagine.
Personally I think that people with Venus/Mars conjunction should be labeled with some warning signs, me included π
I’ll probably choose this conjunction as a subject of my dissertation for a group project.
.. when I was just about to pretend that I haven’t read the announcement.
Yea, this guy was very hot-blooded, to put it mildly. He tried to convince me that it was me in particular that got him going, but I highly doubt it. He also claimed to be shy. All that and a Gemini Sun? *eye roll*
I will second your motion to have people with Venus/Mars conjunction labeled (nice self-proclaiming/labeling as well). It’s only fair that the rest of us get a warning. π
Fiametta, this would make a great subject for your participation in the Group Writing Project (the what?). I’d love to hear more about the Venus-Mars conjunction, especially from someone who suffers from, *ahem*, has this aspect. π
Of course, I narrowly escaped a Venus-Mars conjunction (by degrees, but not by sign) by thismuch, so I should be quiet now. lol
Okay then, I’ll write it.
I have a little request for you as well – could you write about Mars conjunction Descendant thing one day? My best friend has it (in Scorpio!), but I’d love to learn more. Especially from The Bearer Of The Aspect π
Yeah!!
Fiametta, you know my chart better than I do. I had to think for a second, like “What? Mars conjunction descendant?” I’m so used to seeing the Mars-Ascendant opposition in my chart, I don’t think much about the other aspect. What would I do without the Virgo’s wonderful attention to detail? π (Forget everything, probably)
Should I make the “Mars-Descendant Conjunction” my topic for the group writing project or as a blog entry?
Wow, try to ignore all the grammatical mistakes in that last comment. I keep forgetting to push “preview”. Grrr!
Jara, it’s embarrassing, I tend to remember random statistical data from the news or things like that. I don’t even try, it just happens!
The choice is yours π
I have a talent for pushing the right button, which somehow results in my comment disappearing.. totally
