Love Horoscope for the Week of June 26

Two aspects that were exact late last week are still in full effect throughout the first part of the week. First, Venus trine Pluto will make your longings even longer… and deeper… and possibly less easy to fulfill. Taking full advantage of a Venus aspect like that requires a little charm and a little finesse, and those things may very well be in short supply this week. Mars square Jupiter is messing things up that way this week. Fortunately, Mars trine Neptune (exact on Monday) will likely take the worst edge off of the Mars-Jupiter situation and lend a welcome (if somewhat thin) veneer of peace love and understanding to your close personal connections.

As they say… the devil is in the details, and your grasp of those details might be seriously impaired this week. The middle of the week brings us no less than four problematic aspects to Mercury. On Tuesday, Mercury square Jupiter will take the same energy that’s making this week’s Mars energy so hard to handle properly and apply it to your communications and critical faculties. You may find yourself getting some big ideas, but practical application will be in short supply. On the same day, Mercury trine Neptune is sweet and poetic, but under the circumstances even a positive aspect from Neptune might do more harm than good.

Normally a couple of whacko Mercury aspects wouldn’t be enough to derail things too badly. After all, Mercury is a pretty inoffensive planet. But Wednesday and Thursday bring two additional complicating matters. First, Mercury conjunct Mars (Wednesday) will take that Jupiter insistence on turning things up to eleven and will add a dash of recklessness. If that wasn’t enough to guarantee that someone somewhere will be shooting off their big yap at the wrong time or to the wrong person, Thursday’s Mercury opposite Pluto will add a touch of explosiveness to your thoughts and words.

The weekend should give you a chance to get out, have some fun, and maybe commiserate with someone special about that week you just had. Friday and Saturday the Moon in is Libra, so odds are good you’ll be able to find someone to get together with. Also: Saturday is Canada’s 150th birthday, so make sure you hug a Canadian. Or a bear or a moose if you don’t have any Canadians around.

Finally: some of the more eagle-eyed astrology fans out there will have noticed how closely together those transits to Mars and Jupiter and Pluto are coming, and there’s a reason for that: although the aspects are not exact until next week or so, we are approaching the exact peak of a big messy T-square, with Mars opposite Pluto hitting at full force next week, while Jupiter remains in range to square them both. Ouch. Don’t worry — I’ll cover that next week. Haven’t you already got enough to deal with this week?
