On week that starts with a Full Moon on the day the Sun enters Leo, how could that not possibly be The Big News? Read on, my friends: there is drama and special effects aplenty in this week’s installment.
Monday sees a Full Moon at zero degrees Leo and Aquarius. A Full Moon always packs a bit of an edge, but for those of you with major placements on the cusp of two Signs, brace yourself for added drama. Leo Season usually packs a bit of a romantic and dramatic punch, but this year the Lion comes in … well, like a Lion. Watch your temper, and hold on to your heart and your wallet if either is in danger.
Venus enters Virgo on Monday as well. In that Sign, the Love Goddess has a reputation for being a beautiful wallflower. Many of you may find that you have plenty of charm and appeal but very little get up and go — especially given that Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all retrograde. Major changes with your love life seem a little less likely. Venus in Virgo is smart and focused and knows what she wants, and if you assume that same attitude towards your love life, you are likely to achieve your goals. A particular emphasis on brains over mood may be especially effective when it comes to your emotional life this week, as Mars in Cancer still doesn’t know how to direct its fierce but ultimately strangely introverted energies.
If Venus represents your “love drive,” and Mars is your “sex drive,” then think of Venus as the designated driver this week. Mars will know what to do with things once he gets to his destination, but Venus will have to be the one that gets you to the intended target first.
Gosh, is there anything else going on in the sky this week? Oh right. The grand sextile.
A long time ago, when I was an adult but still a child at heart, I remember standing in line for hours in advance awaiting the premiere of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” It was the first Star Wars film in years, and all the hype plus the promise of incredible special effects had let us also believe that it would be as big a life-changing event as the first time we sat in the theater and saw Luke Skywalker blow up the Death Star.
After the movie, I felt disappointed, hurt, offended, and ripped off.
If you get to swept up in the hype, the grand sextile on the 29th could be just exactly like that for you. Sure: having Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto all lined up and working together is pretty darned impressive. But sextiles are, by their nature, not terribly dramatic. They don’t demand your attention. They don’t smack you in the face. They just sit there, kind of like a pretty girl at the back of the bar that no one notices because she’s just a bit too shy to stand out — rather like Venus in Virgo herself, come to think of it. So don’t expect anything too dramatic to happen. No big deal. Fuhgeddabouddit.
That is, unless you have major placements in your birth chart around 5 to 10 degrees of the Water or Earth Signs … and only if you are willing to do the work to sit down and make the changes you need to see in your life related to those placements. If that’s the case, and you really do the work, you will find that you have the power in the coming months to move mountains with situations in which previously you didn’t even have the strength to lift a shovel.
Otherwise, it could just be a nice day to take a nap and watch a movie. It’s your life, and your call.
