It was, I believe, The Buddha (or maybe John Gray) who said that “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.” I think the point here is that men and women perceive the world differently, and act on those perceptions differently. The title has less to do with astrology than you might think: after all, every man has Venus in his chart somewhere, and every woman has a Mars. However, some that title still applies: where both planets are in the birth chart (and where they are in the sky at any given time) tells much of the story about who we love, and how… and traditionally, each gender is a little more comfortable with expressing “its planet.”
Although of course… goofy transits like we have this week are a pain for anyone, regardless of gender.
Frankly, Mars in Aquarius is kind of more good for planning a party than it is for running into that Special Someone at that party. Floating around at the end of Aquarius as it is, un-aspected, can make for some scattered resources… or resources directed more towards a Romantic Snapshot than towards the Big Love Picture you had hoped for. The first part of this week remains excellent for planning or engaging in social activities, so you might want to try signing up for a last minute round of Six Minute Dates (or something similar — Mars in Aquarius isn’t exactly known for its patience.)
Meanwhile, Venus continues to trudge through the last part of Capricorn, neither particularly helped or hindered by major aspects from any other planet. For some, this will be an opportunity to liven up the love life in a new and interesting way (provided you make the effort), but for most, this will just mean a sort of “disconnected” feeling to their emotional wants and needs. Invest those Capricorn energies in practical demonstrations of affection while supplies last!
If you haven’t been a huge fan of where your love life has been lately, fear not: on Friday Venus enters Aquarius and Mars enters Pisces, bringing a significant shift to the undertone. Yes, the two are still in signs right next to each other (which makes “compatibility” between them a little tricky)… but hey, a change is as good as a rest, isn’t it? Watch for a slight up-tick in emotional outbursts, and your partner (real or intended) to have a bit of difficulty focusing on just one target… that is, you.
Finally, on the weekend, Venus trine Jupiter sets up conditions for finding either new love or pumping life into what you have… and Mars square Jupiter makes everyone a little emotionally impulsive. Play your cards right, and you could be the object of those impulses!
