Love Horoscope for the Week of October 1

Humans are as drawn to fearsome fantasies as we are to saccharine fairytales with compulsory happy endings. Have you ever played a game with yourself and imagined the worst possible scenario, just so you could mentally practice surviving it? If practice makes perfect, then Venus’ foray into Virgo can help shed some light on how to perfect the art of survival.

Survival. You may start to feel a little hung up about it once Mercury and Saturn meet in the deep waters of Scorpio on Thursday. Scorpio is not invested in the fairytale princess being awoken by a gentle kiss from her true knight. No, Scorpio takes that tale and twists it into a story about a princess who is abducted and sexually awakened by her captor. That’s where Scorpio lives.

And that’s where Saturn’s going to live for roughly three years. How deeply do you want to explore your fears? And with whom? You can go as fifty shades of sicko as you like, but you’ve got to know that you’re safe and that your experiment with fear will be facilitated by someone you can trust.

Whether that someone is a lover, a therapist, or a friend, don’t put them up on a pedestal. Planetary guru Jupiter retrogrades on Wednesday, signaling that you are your own guiding light.

Life could get sexier; it could feel more scary. It will certainly be an adventure, if Mars has anything to do with it. Mars rides into Sagittarius on Friday, turning life into a joyride. He’s also in search of something that smells like the truth. And if he can’t get you there, Saturn eventually will.

So, step in and out of your dreams or nightmares as often as you like. Neptune’s vibe is in full force as a reminder that, whether it’s heavenly or apocalyptic, it’s all make-believe.
