Venus in Cancer: August 7 to September 6

Venus in CancerAs Venus moves into Cancer, we all have a chance to swim in the depths of our hearts. Relationships take on a more emotional tone as the sign of the moon awakens us to our dreams and intuitions.

Family ties may feel stronger now as the “Great Mother” awakens our need for kinship and tribal bonds. Family reunions, cookouts and other gatherings are a great way to make the most of Venus’ transit through the sign of the Crab.

If your heart feels drawn to memories of past loves or relationships, this may be a good time to try and rekindle missed connections. At the very least, you can gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of a relationship from your youth, using this insight to guide your current situation.

Creativity and imagination are highlighted as Venus moves through Cancer, so this can be a fruitful time to begin new art projects or simply daydream your way through the long summer days.

Since sensitivity is heightened while Venus is in Cancer, it’s important to be aware of boundaries during this time, avoiding those who may take advantage of your weakened defenses. The impulse is to give unconditionally to those in need, but remember to take care of your own safety first, putting your own oxygen mask on before you attempt to rescue anyone else.
