What About Aries Turns Off the Opposite Sex?

If you’ve ever dated an Aries, you’ve experienced the charm that oozes out of his pores. As a passionate sign, Aries can lure you in with a spellbinding energy that is both adventurous and refreshing. The charismatic Ram has a tendency to go after whatever (or whomever) he desires. He will pursue what he believes to be rightfully his, which may just be you—like it or not. It’s difficult to comprehend how this self-proclaimed “Don Juan” could turn off the opposite sex. But it is possible, and it boils down to his maddening temper tantrums.

Aries’ position as the first sign of the zodiac makes the grown adult a little immature on an emotional level. The key phrase used when describing Aries is “I Am;” having his needs fulfilled is a top priority. Aries has a natural disdain for the word “no,” and will shamelessly incite a riot should his energy be thwarted. His temper may cool as quickly as it rises, but this sign is difficult to be around when he doesn’t get his way. While his first and second outbursts may be mildly entertaining, it’s the third and fourth that can be embarrassing for anyone in plain sight.

Ruled by warrior planet Mars, Aries has a notorious reputation for being the ultimate aggressor. The all powerful Zeus was the father of Ares in Greek mythology; it’s no wonder this sign seems to carry with it an inflated sense of entitlement. The cardinal force of Aries moves with heartfelt intention, and those intentions can at times be completely selfish. In relationships, it is essential to treat Aries like the god he claims to embody. Otherwise, an Aries is bound to hold his breath until he gets what he wants—or lose complete consciousness—whichever comes first.

Thankfully, this sign does mellow with age, and is better equipped to make use of a few self-calming techniques. As the object of Aries’ affection, you will eventually discover how to tune out all the noise. The chosen mate would ideally have a lot of Libran energy in the birth chart, offering a nice balance to Aries’ imbalanced temperament. But if all else fails, try instigating the situation by going tit for tat with the Ram. The ensuing frenzy will lead to a bedroom brawl, a battlefield that Aries is known to conquer and rule.

  1. i dated a pisces with a mercury, mars, and venus in aries in the 7th house. it was a shortlived relationship. temper tantrum after temper tantrum. the tantrum came after only a week of knowing him. i told him no and he went ballistic. i should have seen it as a sign.

the second time and third, fourth were just all too damn much. too much arguing over the lamest of things; most because i told him no. all that arguing and playing the pisces martryr at the same time was a bit too much.

his selfishness was getting to be irrational behavior. plus, after he gave me a tongue lashing, he still wanted to be with me.

i didnt stick around for a 5th tantrum.

  2. Being a Libra married to an Aries has been quite the roller coaster, but of all my relationships, this one has been the easiest to deal with. The temper is not a problem because it disappears as quickly as it comes and as time goes on, there are less flare-ups. The other issue is knowing when there is a real problem versus just drama. Selective and intuitive hearing always helps

One of the other benefits is that the relationship allows me to keep my independence because once you have found what makes the Aries happy, they tend to become a little fixated on that. More time for me!

  3. Wow Sag24/7! That sure is a lot of Arian energy in one chart…and all in the 7th? How nutty, ha! I can only imagine what his flare ups were like, and the volatile affect they had on your relationship. Smart move to get out, that’s for sure. Let’s think of him as a special case!

  4. @Loves Life, I’m sure your love of life is one of the many reasons this particular Aries adores you. Add to that your natural Libran charm, and you most likely are the primary calming agent for your husband. I personally love seeing opposite signs come together and finding love and balance. It’s not easy, especially with an Aries man! Congrats to you on attracting (and in a way taming) your true other half!

  5. Biased and subjective. For Astrology to be a science, it needs to be objective. Reading articles like this make me look at astrology as a psuedoscience.

  6. To be honest bluemoon, I don’t see Astrology as wholly a science, anyway (as far as our definition of science goes). There’s a lot more involved. IMO, “psuedoscience” may be a fitting term to use when describing the scientific aspects of Astrology that go along with the intuitive parts. In some ways, yes, Astrology can be subjective. That doesn’t make it false or incorrect. Still, you make an interesting point.

  7. honestly i don’t jive well with Aries men. maybe because they are too much like me ? LOL

i noticed this because in my Facebook, the Aries men are the ones who would be the first ones challenging my opinion/beliefs. they do this in a condescending manner. then i used to work with this Aries guy, he would bother me a lot. our teammates thought we hated each other. a few years after i left the country, i happened to talk with him and he was looking for a booty call XD

my dad is also an Aries. my mom told me that he was very persistent and at first she did not like him LOL.

i think i only got attracted to one Aries…and he’s an April born Aries. i dunno if that makes a difference.

  8. Hey anotherariesgirl, I think most people would agree that the male Aries is a bit more “hardcore” than the female. But the females CAN be a handful, too. I have a lot of Aries friends and family, and I seem to be able to relate to them pretty well (probably because of my Aries moon). Nevertheless, there’s never a dull moment with them. They’re probably the one sign you couldn’t live with or without, no matter the month (March or April!).

  9. I am born 21st of march the only aries i have in my chart is ~Aries 24° 4′ in house 3 …I am short tempered mostly in warranted things unless Im stressd then i could bite your head off at anything lol but I dont hold grudges and I can just as easily snap out of it.

Both my sisters are full on aries both in april (1 and 5) April 1 sis… i can handle her in small doses… very small doses, the second I’m around her I feel myself become edgy and I’m constantly telling her to get out my face, she has no concept of bounderies and has this nervous energy which totally kills my chill lol I’m laughing now but I hate it. I had resentment for her when we were children, as an adult I just feel like saying chill the hell down. lol

The april 5 sis were not on speaking terms, probably justifyably so but hey my pisces understanding went out the window after 17 years I think I did pretty well. She brings the worst out of every person she touches i dont even want to go into how much this girl is capable of. She has roused my anger where i am purposely staying away because the dreams I have been having are… whoa…not pretty!!! I have never consciously thought of doing things like this to anyone in my life. And all my life Ive been a lover not a fighter :)

My daughter april 19, beautiful nature and no im not biased lol a little bossy sometimes but we did well until april 5 sister got in the way, presently working through some major stuff here.

Best friend april 8…i love her to pieces friends for 14 years, it works but i think theres a few illusions there but it hasnt affected us, shes as loyal as, and is really giving.Shes protective of me which i find cute she’s like 5 foot nothing im 5’10 shes a little firespark lol …we have never had an argument in our entire relationship and we have totally different opinions on everything. We just work things out.

Ex boyfriend april 2…holy crap I can not get rid of this guy. Together for 3 years. Broken up for nearly 6…and he just keeps coming back every month or two. Ive been as blunt and honest as possible i am this close to resorting to “eff off or ill get a restraining order”…I just want him to leave me alone and get on with his life. I dont hate him I feel sorry for him…He just doesn’t understand the word NO. Never seen him angry i think hes more scared of me getting angry lol

So yes sorry to dribble on…aries do have tempers but its nothing…suprisingly mine is the one everyone fears and I have the least amount of aries in my chart…go figure.

  10. The superficiality. Whether it’s to cover hurts or to avoid them. I can’t stand the Arien way (men and women) of denying what is apparently true to self and others. It would be different if they would just be quiet and sulk like some of the other zodiac brothers and sisters when in denial.

However, an Aries lashes out in projection when actually the only person who has a problem with what is going on, is them. They never really come right out and say what the real problem is….just lash until the other person won’t put up with it or they aren’t getting the desired response (usually in efforts to make the other person feel guilty about something) and they just go away.

  11. 95.7% of the women walking on the planet dream to be with aries ruler of the zodiac.

  12. Ha ha

  13. second that haha

  14. Come, Come now Girls can’t you see that he is the King.???

    And every Demsels DREAM.???

He was born to rule the Zodiac where Women are concerned so he is just doing his JOB.!!!

Keep up the GOOD WORK Aries king and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  15. Hmmm I wonder which part of his anatomy those HORNS represent.???

The Man is GIFTED and we can’t deny him that.!!!

Aries does rule the “HEAD” but which one.???

Cheers Girls and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  16. ZING!

  17. So Ms.Teeq1974 says:

“The superficiality. Whether it’s to cover hurts or to avoid them. I can’t stand the Arien way (men and women) of denying what is apparently true to self and others. It would be different if they would just be quiet and sulk like some of the other zodiac brothers and sisters when in denial.

You’ve got some nerve. You probably only know ONE Arian and what? The moon didn’t want the sky? Get over it! I’ve got news for you, we’re all different! I hate this passive aggressive BS that people keep putting on Aries people. Not every time a person has a problem with another person does it mean the first is “projecting” regardless of sun sign. Didn’t see a Ph. D. after your name so don’t try any of that 5 cent psychotherapy on me, either. Look, sometimes, things need to be said. And yes, they need to be said in a heated argument, and guess what? I will try to win every argument put to me, because why shouldn’t my point of view be out there and dominate everything out there? Best believe I will try and win; to do otherwise is weak. For your information, yes, I, an Aries, can be blunt, but I can be soft. You have to gauge the situation for what it needs. Another thing: my brother’s a scorpio and he’s 100x worse than I am in the temper department. But I know some scorpios that are sweet as sugar, so I cannot base all of my experiences with scorpios on the few I know. You have to deal with people as individuals.

That shizz you wrote gets on my last nerves. Get a therapist and move on. And that wasn’t me being superficial. That was from the truest, most intimate part of the very depth of my soul. Sulk, my ass.

  18. Well things are really heating up in this Aries Pasture that’s for sure.!!!

The Aries Man otherwise known as the RAM was placed on this good earth
    to resque Demsels in Distress.!!!

He is Gods gift to Women and the KING so if anyone needs to be resqued and to
be relieved of their Stress you had better line up or you will miss your turn where
resquing from the King is concerned.???

Cheers Girls and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  19. wow Brownin….that aries nature is fired up!

Ms Teeq is correct. when aries dont get the reaction or praise their looking for they stomp around and yell some more until the other person cant take it anymore…

instead of having an intelligent conversation, you attacked the poster for voicing her own opinion. youll probably attack me too and it will go back to the original article….what about aries tuns people off…everything is not a fight, a battle, or war…. :)

Ms Teeq didnt attack you but you took it as a personal attack and grounds for war. in fact, you did sulk. because Teeq didnt talk about the wonderful qualities of an aries you came out swinging. for what? its not the end of the world if someone points out your negative qualities, instead you should see it as room for improvement.

people are seeing you differently and not the way you want them to see you…not their fault…they can only go on what you put out and right now your putting out venom. again, for what?

the things she wrote gets on your nerves because deep down inside, theres some truth to it.

“I hate this passive aggressive BS that people keep putting on Aries people.”

**a million people cant be wrong

by the way, Teeq is an aries rising…..

  20. @Karrisa

The all powerful Zeus was the father of Ares in Greek mythology; it’s no wonder this sign seems to carry with it an inflated sense of entitlement.

as his screename and post would imply…. “Aries king of the zodiac” plays right into Tracey’s blog…perfectly.

  21. Hi Sag24/7

Iam very well aware of Greek Mythology as I happen to be Greek.

I did not deny him his entitlement I was in actual fact pointing it out.!!!

I have already mentioned in my previous posts the rightful entitlement of

“ARES GREEK MYTHOLOGICAL GOD OF WAR”

It is good to see that Tracy has mentioned it as well because it all makes sense.!!!

And further more. “ARES GOD of WAR and AFRODITI GODDESS OF LOVE were LOVERS”

Their Union produced a Son named “EROS” which means Love Making. He is otherwise
known as “CUPID”. He fell in love with a mortal named “PSYCHE” which means “SOUL”
Afroditi made her undergo a serious of tests to prove her love toward her Son and when
she passed the tests she was Oodained by Zeus Father and King of all the Gods she
was made a Goddess of the “SOUL” in order to marry Eros God of love making and
King Zeus performed the ceremony just as he did with all the Gods.!!!

And so it is in Greek Mythology that is.!!!

Good OBSERVATION Lovely Girl. Cheers and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  22. Hi Sag24/7,

I did not deny him his entitlement I was in actual fact pointing it out.!!!

I have already mentioned in my previous posts the rightful entitlement of

  23. Hmmm I wonder what is going on with the Moderation System.???

Could this be the reason things are so quiet.???

    Cheers and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  24. The Union of EROS and PSYCHE produced three children aptly named
    BLISS, PLEASURE and ECSTACY.!!!

Their origins were attributed as the direct result of their Grand Parents Union
which was “ARES GOD OF WAR AND AFRODITI GODDESS OF LOVE.!!!

The real question here is whether just any Aries Man is worthy of the “ARES
    GOD of WAR” Title.???

That is up to the Woman in question to decide based uppon his capabilities
and whether or not he is the “REAL ARES GREEK MYTHOLOGICAL GOD
    OF WAR”.???

    Cheers and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  25. Is he the “REAL DEAL”.??? or just another ” MUTTON DRESSED IN LAMB”.???

    Let’s hear it Girls.???

    Cheers and keep Smiling. Taurus.

  26. Oooh wow geez Louise it’s going off in here..
    Hahha

  27. You’ve got some nerve. You probably only know ONE Arian and what? The moon didn’t want the sky? Get over it! I’ve got news for you, we’re all different! @ All…happy to know that I wrote was so well put and place that someone looked to see if there was a PhD after my name. LMAO!!! ha ha ha ha

Sorry…I couldn’t resist. ha ha ha ha

Browining…in my Pi empathy…I hope your days are going alot better and that your “nerves” have been soothed by your dismissal and aggro attack of my very general opinion…which was solicited by the way and not put out there just to unnerve you.

BTW, to take a vey general statement and own it as a personal meaning is a superficial way of covering up hurt. *batting my very Picean eyelashes right here* Have a good day Love.

Sag 24/7 – thanks for the validation of my remarks. My friendship with the Sag chick who I met about 9 months ago is going better than GREAT. We are more like twins than anything. We handle things very differently but pretty much have the same ideas on subject matters and similar tastes in all areas.

I think, from my friendship with her, that what goes missing from most Pi/Sag interactions is the mutual respect of being different and responding to situations differently. So yea…I’m learning alot from her. She is AWESOME and I will not trade her for the world. We both look forward to this being a life long friendship. She has a Scorp Venus as well. lol

Had to put that out there as well…and thank you all for your time. lol

  28. Ms. Teeq, I’ll sincerely thank you for your insights. Hey, we all should hear what might be difficult to help us to grow and evolve, right?

I was just thinking about what causes me to have temper tantrums with Bravo on the TV. Jeff Lewis from ‘Flipping Out’ was on and I was like, YEAH, that’s me! (He’s an Aries too)

    1. Hate to repeat myself regarding solutions to a problem.
    2. Have a weird, cruel sense of humor.
    3. Love crazy, odd people around us (like Jenny)

Oh, about temper tantrums, well, I don’t think I have them at least not so obviously. Maybe I keep a lot in because of a lot of water in my chart but I’ll rail on bullies, plain stupidity and the worst of all; betrayal.

Ms.Teeq’s opinion doesn’t bother me because it’s based on her experience. It’s totally valid and something we should hear, understand and hopefully grow from it.

  29. @ Bliss…thanks Dear. I really wasn’t tryin to personally offend anyone. Lol but what u said about suckin it up and owning up in areas where we can personally improve????

OMG…I have been getting alot of that lately…I mean no vaseline raw feedback from objective parties. Its waaaaay different coming from a voice thay has no vested interest. Alot of help has come from honest Sass voices.

Ive had to learn not to take it personally when people make general statements. I used to take it VERY personal. Learning not to has transferred over to my waking life as well.

    So..yea…I agree 100%.

  30. i’m pretty new to this I don’t know much about astrology … but I signed up to be able to understand an Aries man i just met 5 months now. not yet met in person that is my confusion. but when we talk to text eachother…. I seem to have the tantrums , he just calms me down by saying something sweet. I’m
Capricorn , I have not seen his tantrums ,,, but he does seem to make it known that I didn’t text him back or call him back when he texts me.

  31. when i go out to eat with my aries bff, things can get interesting.

the first time we were out to eat and the bill came back and it wasnt what she expected..she tore the girl a new one. the first time i was like damn. i pity the fool who stands in her way.

the second time, she again ordered and it was specific order with some changes. special request. the bill came back and it was not what she expected and she went off on the server.

the third time, i started to get embarrassed. then i brought it up to her and to my surprise, other friends including her boyfriend have told her the same thing.

  32. I recently met an Aries and was attracted to him. We talked most of the night but I could tell he liked my friend better. I got his number, we talked and he confessed to feeling a spark with my friend. I told him I wasn’t looking for Mr. Right within him, I was just looking for a friend with benefits (I hope I don’t sound sleezy…i’m old lol!) He said that was something he never really had done but would consider it, and he did. We did not do much that night but we kissed and stuff and it was in my opinion, incredible. Since then, he’s been completely avoiding me. He at first felt like a pimp, now he said he needs to think about it and needs some space. We’re kind of in similar loner positions in life and he doesn’t have any family around, and I told him I just really did not want to spend Christmas alone. Again, no reply. I’m really ready to call it quits. Anyone have any advice?

  33. Jackie whats your natal chart? Get it from astro.com and post it here.
I would however not be too pushy or easy either with him. You made your intentions known now so if he wants to he will contact you. I am an Aries and no matter what if I want someone I will go for them. Its either black or white with us no gray areas.

  34. @Bliss, OMG I lov lov LOV Jeff Lewis. I cant stop watching his show when he’s on. Wow, he’s really neurotic (might have some Vurgo somewhere) but very Arian indeed

  35. @Jackie: You came off as desperate which is a fatal mistake. Why would be ok with a guy who tells you up front he isn’t into you? An Aries guy wants a damsel he can respect and desire; someone worthy to go after to claim as his own.

@elle: Jeff has sun, mercury & venus in Aries, moon in Libra. No virgo but his rising may be. I really wonder what his boyfriend’s sign is. If they are still together. I don’t like his boyfriend much because he seems manipulative and jealous of the people in Jeff’s life. Typical Aries thinks he’s in control while their partner runs rings around them…can’t wait for the new season!

  36. Because I know the depth and breadth of my anger, I allow myself to take an unassuming posture until fully assulted or backed into a corner so that when I come hard – no one can call my crazy or went too far – much like how Brad Pitt did it in that one scene with the mob bosses in “Fight Club.” I tend to find a inappropriate/ perverse humor in provocation.

I don’t do temper tantrums. If I am yelling and such it is because I have told you several times and I am trying not to get physical.

I don’t do sulking. Sulking is a egoistic interpretation made by the offender. What I am tring to do is self-correct and think it through – not be impulsive, steady the flame. A person feigning like they do not understand what they did… is a big, big problem.

  37. fieryaries says:

I would consider myself a true Aries (ap 10) as I seem to have obviously displayed almost all major characteristics.

I find myself dramatically turned off by other Aries men. I find them to be out-of-this-world cocky and arrogant. They come on WAY too strong and for me personally, it’s such a turn off. I haven’t met THAT many Aries men (more women) but from the few, it’s like WOAH.

My mum and my sisters are all Pisces and they really get on my damn nerves more often than not. They seem to be EXTREMELY judgy and can get all “high and mighty” on you when they think they see things more clearer. And frankly, their martyr spells and the sullen blues they sometimes fall into are just so dreary and depressing. Sometimes I find myself trying to help and they don’t want to find a solution, just sit there and mope. I’m just the polar opposite.
