Weekend Forecast: July 10-12

July 10, 2009 by Jeffrey Kishner

Weekend ForecastThis is a mega-Piscean weekend, so go to the beach or cozy up on your couch for a DVD marathon. Anything having to do with water, escapism, fantasy or drugs is fair game. The Moon enters the sign of the fishes 11:44 EST on Friday, and doesn’t move into Aries until Monday morning. Early Friday morning, Jupiter and Neptune — both planetary rulers of Pisces — conjoin for the second time. Jupiter governs expansion, optimism and adventure; Neptune’s domain is ego transcendence and dissolution of boundaries. Both planets revel in idealism, so this combination is about as “pie in the sky” as you can get. Jupiter and Neptune are also both retrograde — you may benefit from looking to the past or deep within yourself to see how you escape the confines of mundane life. Do you zone out with pot and Netflix, or intentionally make contact with a Higher Power? (Or is the former your path to God?)

Saturday night, messenger planet Mercury — currently in Cancer — makes a soft aspect (sextile) to serious Saturn. Your desire to communicate with feeling is given a level of focus and groundedness that prevents you from being overtaken with emotion. Around the same time, energetic Mars enters Gemini, the sign that likes to talk talk talk. Until the last week of August, words can be spiked with aggression, and our drive can be weakened by distraction. It’s best to follow your curiosity and forgive yourself for letting your mind wander when trying to get tasks done.
