Sienna Miller and Balthazar Getty: A Capriquarian Affair
December 15, 2008 by Synthia Rose
After playing mistress in a real-life drama chronicled by gossip magazines, Capricorn Sienna Miller wants to shift her love affair with married actor-producer Balthazar Getty to the big screen. Last week, Miller floated the idea of starring in a film with Balthazar Getty, an Aquarius and father of four who stars in Brothers & Sisters. She’s serious — and her managers are looking for the perfect vehicle for the couple.
That’s kind of bold, as Getty’s still married to his estranged wife, Rosetta. But if anyone thinks Miller’s desire to memorialize her affair in celluloid will make her even more hated, you must know — by virtue of her renegade chart — she doesn’t care. The lingering marriage is just a technicality for Sienna and Balthazar, two Aqua-heavy lovers who don’t bend to traditional ways, but see everyone as free to universally merge as desired. Aquarius energy doesn’t seek to be “sinful” in the eyes of the mainstream — it simply doesn’t by nature recognize territory, possessions, or boundaries. Because personal liberty is a trademark of their nature, Aquarius thinkers can rationalize love so free it that expands to include someone other than a spouse.
But, you say — Sienna’s a Capricorn, the most traditional sign there is. Yes, born Dec. 28, 1981 in New York, she is definitely cardinal earth. But while dutiful Capricorn Suns generally care about status, image, being responsible and following rules, Sienna has at least one personal planet in Aquarius, and those planets are stirred up by Pluto-Jupiter squares. Pluto lords over secrecy, sex, and all things taboo. An affair for Miller? Oh, the more sly and forbidden the better! (View synastry biwheel.)
Sienna’s love planet Venus and her Moon, which governs her emotions, are conjunct. (Without an exact time of birth, we cannot know if her Moon is in early Aquarius or late Capricorn.) This conjunction alone intensifies what each of these planets represents, creating an immense emotional need to be fulfilled through partnerships that are off the beaten path (courtesy of Aquarius).
The conjunction isn’t the only thing stoking fire here. (Aquarians are seemingly cold, but don’t underestimate their feelings simply because of their outward expression.) Sienna has Jupiter square her Venus and Moon. Jupiter, the benevolent bestower of excess and fortune, generates over-the-top love and affection here. In short, it can make one reckless in love affairs, accompanied by big feelings that escalate beyond one’s control. Add to that an obsession-and-conflict-loving Pluto, which squares Sienna’s Moon. This aspect provides her intensity, sexually aggressive emotion, and a hunger for concealed, erotic tangling that is the dark planet’s specialty.
In walks Balthazar, born January 22, 1975, with a chart that creates a hot synastry between he and Miller. His Aquarius Sun is conjunct her Moon. In synastry, this creates a delectable harmony, because both people will have similar sensibilities but different roles. The Sun person is more direct and leads the relationship, while the Moon person rides along, providing the glue that keeps the relationship together.
Getty’s Sun is also conjunct Sienna’s Aquarian Venus. He matches what she wants in romance. It is very hard to understand an Aqua Venus’ approach to love, and some say only another Aquarius can successfully do it. Getty’s Capricorn Mars, which affects his behavior and sexuality, is conjunct her Sun, creating sexual chemistry and synergy in how they do things together.
But Pluto is not finished in this love story. Getty’s Pluto squares Miller’s Sun, trines her Venus, and conjoins her Mars. Pluto-Mars brings sexual obsession and Pluto-Venus ups the erotic passion, but this outer planet has its transformative side as well, transforming their identities and adding spiritual depth to their union. This relationship goes beyond the bed.
Scorn Sienna Miller if you want. But years ago, she was the wounded darling who garnered public sympathy when her fiance Jude Law, who starred with her in 2004’s Alfie, cheated on her with his nanny. Did it crush her? Hmm. One must wonder if the pain liberated her from duty and reduced for her the sanctity of traditional unions — at least enough to cross the line and find her own extra-marital romance.

Without a birth time, it’s not possible to say that her Moon is exactly conjunct Balthazar’s Sun. I wonder what attracts her to so many married men? Her Venus squares to Saturn/Pluto conjunction and trine a Mars Libra?
If she is an Aqua Moon, it might explain her moral flexibility…my Aqua Moon is square Saturn, so I can’t imagine dating married men (I’m sure there are exceptions, but she’s been with a few married men!)

Super-Capriquarius (Sun/Merc in Cap, Moon/Venus/Mars in Aqua)
good call re: the lack of birth time, AE. I’ve made some changes to the article to note that the Moon is not necessarily in Aquarius.
