Madonna and Alex Rodriguez: Living in a Neptunian World

[ad]Maddona and Alex RodriguezWith the ink barely dry on her divorce to Guy Ritchie, rumors of the alleged affair between Madonna and Alex Rodriguez continue. With no photographs of the pair seen together, both parties feverishly deny any romance, yet the rumors show no sign of letting up.

According to People magazine, A-Rod claims they are “just friends,” sharing a manager and their passion for children’s charities. A photograph published in Australia’s Grazia magazine shows A-Rod at a Madonna concert looking absolutely besotted — certainly not a look reserved for “just friends.” Assuming that this romance is in fact “burning up,” let’s take a sneak peak at what is going on between them astrologically.

Madonna was born on August 16, 1958 7:05 am in Bay City, Michigan (view natal chart). A-Rod was born on July 27, 1975 in New York (birth time unknown so a midday chart is cast). The first thing that pops out about the synastry between “Madriguez” is that both Madonna and Alex have Mars inTaurus. Mars represents drive and ambition, as well as sex. In the sensual, tactile and determined sign of the bull, this union may prove to be an enduring “slow burn” that will continue to smolder for some time.

Natally, both Madonna and A-Rod have Venus square Neptune. Venus is the planet of beauty, love and affection, and when it meets soulful Neptune, it can literally make you feel drunk with love. Fantasy, high ideals, spirituality and inner soul connections can make the relationship feel transcendent in nature. On the surface, the romance shows all the hallmarks of being “true love” — however, the all encompassing nature of Neptune can turn the situation south when the darker side of the nebulous planet makes his presence felt. Then, the sweet smell of drunkenness turns into the sour stench of a hangover. This can come in the form of deceit, lies, lack of clarity, or disillusionment. On one hand, A-Rod has been quoted as saying “she’s my f%*king soul mate, dude,” and on the other, he denies any existence of anything romantic between them.

Madonna is a career-focused woman who calls the shots in all aspects of her life. How long will A-Rod stay a cog in the Madonna machine? Remember that each party was still married to other people when rumors of romance began to surface, making this alleged affair feel surreal, intoxicating, addictive and typically Neptunian. If this connection between Madge and A-Rod is actually a thriving romance, the fact it is being kept under wraps from the public makes the forbidden fruit even sweeter.

This outer planet’s influence is also featured in Madonna’s Moon square A-Rod’s natal Neptune. (Her Ascendant and Moon are also conjunct his Venus.) This connection is illustrated by a source in the A-Rod camp, who describes their relationship as “spiritual, emotional and romantic.” Rather than butting heads like she did with Guy Ritchie, Madge and Alex they have a collaborative relating style. Madonna introduced Alex to the Jewish mystical faith of Kabbalah last year, to which Alex is reported to be devoted — which would only deepen any bonds he has with Madonna.

The Moon in the chart represents your emotional side, what you need to feel safe and nurtured — as well as your mother and/or how you mother others. Madonna lost her own mother at age five and has often “mothered” her employees, friends and others in her entourage. (Cast your mind back to her Truth or Dare documentary of 1991. Madonna portrayed an image of her tour members as being one big happy family, where all her dancers where like her children). In comes A-Rod’s natal Neptune linking with Madonna’s Moon, bringing about a sensation that anything is possible as long as they are together. A-Rod being seventeen years Madonna’s junior also suggests that Madonna may take on a mothering role in the relationship, or, at the least, a mentoring role. Madonna and A-Rod share passion for children’s charities and “saving the world” (Neptune is linked to self-sacrifice), so if they were to collaborate in these endeavors, they truly could take on the world — becoming the next Brangelina (remember Brad Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston when he met Angelina). It will be interesting to watch the story unfold over the next few weeks, when Madonna’s divorce is finalized on January 2, 2009. Will they come out from behind the smokescreen and stand as a united front, or will they keep the world guessing?

  1. I enjoyed this piece and would appreciate more of its kind. Thanks!

  2. Porridge McGee says:

Pretty interesting stuff Cassandra, nice work. Do you think this relationship will impact on either of their careers?

  3. Madonna Impersonator says:

This piece makes it easier and easier to impersonate Madonna. All i need is to hook up with an A rod impersonator, and Bollywood, here i come!

  4. David Nyau says:

Cassandra, surely A Rod can do better than Madonna? She is definitely past her prime, or does something in her chart say otherwise?

  5. Niwa says:

Madonna is definitely not past her prime. Enough of this sexist idea that women have expiration dates. I don’t like that they were both married when this started (if it started), but it seems that there is potential for something beautiful, so good for them.

  6. Larisa says:

Lust took over her head and now her family fell apart. I don’t see anything fascinating here.

  7. Larisa says:

Brangelina has a bad karma. Jolie was trying to hurt Aniston in public by saying that she and Brad were lovers when he was still married to her. Well, nothing to be proud of and secondly, she is a slut if she even openly admits to the whole world that she did that. Her value is zero.
Just wait… Karma has its mysterious ways to come back. Count to ten… “Karma creates nothing, nor does it design. It is man who plans and creates causes, and Karmic law adjusts the effects; which adjustment is not an act, but universal harmony, tending ever to resume its original position… ” Helena Blavatsky.

  8. Cassandra says:

The purpose of this article wasn’t really to establish who does and doesn’t have good or bad karma. All we really have as a speculative resource is the heavily biased media and astrology charts from which to delineate within the context given by the media.
If it wasn’t for these high profile indiscretions we wouldn’t be all having fun being arm chair critics now would we :)
Yeah, Mads will still be shakin’ it when she’s 60 and I take my hat off to her. No matter what she does people will always say s*%t about it.

  9. Bob says:

!!100% agree with larisa. Why do you write about such couples when there are decent people around and we can watch them instead of discussing white trash here, unless it fits your profile and fascinates you ??????? Cassandra, you cup of tea, huh? You said “will they keep the world guessing”? not me, thanks ;-D. I have been reading everyone’s posts for 8 months and see that this site has lots of other people’s dirty laundry and no one is moving forward………….. Bummer

  10. I beg to differ. A public couple can be used as an illustration of astrology, whether you agree with those people’s decisions or not.

And do you really expect to witness the profound psychological growth of readers on a blog? Yes, it’s likely that some spin their wheels and use astrology as a crutch, but others do inner work that may not be evident to a visitor. In addition, many of those readers may feel no need to come back and report on their progress because they got what they needed.

As a publisher, I will cop to publishing on topics that get readers to click. You did, after all!

  11. Bob says:

All I am saying, improve the quality of your posts. You are at the bottom of the ocean. However, any intelligent person, after a while. won’t stay here. I see that readers give advice to each other while astrologist just sit there watching them swim in the own dirt. Apologies, true indeed. You should teach more since you opened this site.

  12. It’s called “boundaries.” If I took it upon myself to, as you say, help all my readers instead of watching them “swim in the [sic] own dirt,” I’d have very little energy left for myself. That’s what private consultations are for. I put a tremendous amount of effort into the maintenance of this website as it is, without intervening in every discussion in the comments section.

If I am at the bottom of the ocean, you ought not to feed down here.

  13. Cassandra says:

Ooooh, I feel quite flattered that my blog has caused controversy just like the subject matter herself (Madonna).

I’m currently writing part II on this Bob- I hope you enjoy it :)

  14. Bob says:

:) I won’t waste my time reading it, but I feel sorry for the audience. As you could see, there were hardly any comments. Stop flattering yourself, it is not popular or desired subject. But go ahead, I know you need this job.

  15. Daemoness says:

    Bob,

I am rather new to this site and do not know you from previous posts, or if in fact you have published articles yourself here or on other sites.

The fact that you come here, read and comment “I have been reading everyone’s posts for 8 months” shows you have an interest. If the topics you read don’t satisfy your sensibilities, there must be many other places you can choose to visit.

I really find find it uncharitable when people choose to critique someone’s creative endeavors by way of personal attacks. If you want the quality of the the articles to improve, perhaps you could lay out the criteria that would meet your expectations, without insulting the author of the article.

I have been seeing negativity on a few of the astrological blogs lately. I am wondering if this is a manifestation of Pluto in Cap, where for a long while, the expectations will be for us all to adhere to straight laced, in the box, very humorless way of expressing thoughts and ideas. I really do not want other people to censor what I read or find interesting and educational. I chose to make up my own mind in all forms of media, but especially on the net.

If this is the way of things to come for the majority of the time Pluto travels through Capricorn, I will indeed find it a major bummer.

    Christmas cheer to everyone!

    Daemoness

  16. Capricorn is on my fifth house cusp. I think pluto’s transit can only be good for my creative output … Unless He drives it underground.

  17. Cassandra says:

I think you made most of the comments Bob!

  18. bob says:

Ha-ha! Just trying to help all of you to choose better examples for writing, that’s all. Better examples lead to better results. Moral vs immoral. Not attacking you by any means, but helping you to find more positive examples. Some could say that there is not right or wrong. Well, there is and we all know it. I see I got attention of all of you fast. Sit tight and think, restructure. Good luck

  19. Matthew Currie says:

    Bob:

Have you ever considered the possibility that a doctor, for example, who studies nothing but healthy patients isn’t really doing anyone any good at all?

  20. That’s an excellent point you make there Matthew.

Maybe Bob will just have to have to accept the fact that this site with it’s white trash and bottom feeders is not for him?
