Behind the Scopes: Venus in Libra, Sun conjunct Saturn

September 2, 2008 by kishner

Behind the Scopes is my humble attempt to deconstruct Michelle Piller’s horoscopes for this week. I don’t know what she’s thinking, so I’m just using my knowledge of astrology to figure them out.

General: Venus conjunct Mars in Libra (exact on Sept. 11, but in orb all this week). Venus entered Libra last Saturday: “You’re occupied with the pursuit of romance, socializing and creativity.” Sun conjunct Saturn: “there’s a dose of common sense that prevents you from becoming delusional in matters of the heart.”

Aries: Venus in Libra (solar Seventh House of Partnership): “Those of you with partners are basking in the glow of love. Never has your mate looked so luscious in every way. Whether you’re in a brand new affair or have made a deeper commitment in your relationship, enjoy the romance it brings” … “Say yes to all wedding invitations.” Mars in Libra: “…with just enough spice to keep you from getting bored.”

Taurus: Venus in Libra (solar Sixth House of Health): “A healthy body is a beautiful thing. The Cosmos has issued you a five-star invitation to get yourself into the best shape you possibly can.”

Gemini: Venus in Libra (solar Fifth House of Romance and Creativity): “Right now you’re keenly aware that love makes the world go round” … “If you’re in search of romance, get in touch with your inner artist and hit the galleries.”

Cancer: Venus in Libra (solar Fourth House of Home): “Your home is your refuge, so how perfect that the stars are shining brightly on your little haven from the world!” Sun conjunct Saturn (ruler of solar Seventh House of Partnership) in Virgo (solar Third House of Communication): “If you’re in a relationship, chances are you and your partner are having serious talks about your future.” (Possibly consider Jupiter stationing retrograde early next week in Capricorn in solar Seventh House of Partnership.)

Leo: Post-eclipse: “If you and your partner went through a rough patch recently…” Venus in Libra (solar Third House of Communication): “this is a heavenly time to peacefully air your feelings and kiss and make up, or walk away amicably. The main thing is, if you’ve got something on your mind, share it.” Sun (ruler of Leo [self], which governs the heart) conjunct Saturn (ruler of Sixth House of Health) in Virgo: “We all know what stress can do to a body, right?” … “Your true sense of self comes from living from your heart.” (I’m not 100% confident about the Sun-Saturn interpretation.)

Virgo: Venus in Libra (solar Second House of Self-Esteem): “Guess what just arrived for you today, serious one? A cosmic invitation to look into the mirror and smile! That’s right — it’s time to lighten up on some of those harsh attitudes you’ve been doling out to yourself.” (There was also a New Moon in Virgo conjunct Saturn last Saturday.)

Libra: Venus in Libra (solar First House of Self-Identity): “You are the very embodiment of charisma and magnetism right now, so don’t be surprised by all of the attention and stares you receive.”

Scorpio: Venus in Libra (solar Twelfth House of Dreams and Images): “Dream today so that the Universe can help make your dream real tomorrow” … “you have the power of the Cosmos working with you to change your life, just through the act of visualization.”

Sagittarius: Venus in Libra (solar Eleventh House of Friends): “Your friends miss you — won’t you come out and play?” … “If you’re single, your friends are likely to introduce you to someone who lights a fire inside you.” (Add a little Mars in Libra for the “fire.”)

Capricorn: Venus in Libra (solar Tenth House of Career): “I hope you have the good fortune to work with the one you love, because that’s where all of the action is. Everyone adores you at the office, so enjoy the accolades. If you’re looking for a mate, arrange an after-work get-together with your colleagues.”

Aquarius: Venus in Libra (solar Ninth House of Faith) plus Neptune (unconscious, visions, spirituality) in Aquarius: “an unshakeable faith in the benevolence of the Universe. Reaching into your unconscious helps you connect the dots between past, present and future. You can literally see Time in all of its directions, knowing that it’s one never-ending continuum of possibilities.” Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) in Pisces (solar Second House of Self-Esteem): “When you love and accept yourself as you are, you have more love to give away…” (The latter interpretation may be a stretch.)

Pisces: Venus in Libra (solar Eighth House of Sexual Intimacy and Mysteries): “you’re enjoying a sexual awakening” … “you’re learning how true intimacy connects you with something greater than yourself” … “you’re being initiated into the deeper mysteries of yourself and life.”

  1. Starry Night Astrology says:

With Mercury, Mars and Venus running the sign of Libra, I think everything is all talk and no action. Saturn in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces tells us to keep our eye on the ball but the inclination is for the eye to wander. The new moon this past Saturday beckons us with dreams of new love. It all may be an illusion, but what a pretty whipped confection it is, like cotton candy spun at a fair.

  2. Jeffrey Kishner says:

Eat cotton candy with moderation, lest you get sick.

  3. Karen says:

“lest you get sick”–that’s sweet, Jeffrey.

btw- is it OK if I ask why you are deconstructing Michelle Piller’s Love’scopes’?
I mean, more info from you is always good, but I think she’s a good astrologer.
It’s not nice to undercut her is it?

  4. Karen says:

wait…Starry night–so 3 planets in Libra indicates “all talk”?

    phhooey.
thank goodness for Libras, or else all the fixed and confused other signs would not have a clue.

  5. Jeffrey Kishner says:

@Karen, I discussed this undertaking with Michelle ahead of time, and she liked the idea. I fail to see how I am undercutting her.
