Woman born on cusp wonders if she’s really an Aquarius

I was born on the last day of Aquarius. I’m living with a guy who is also an aquarius. I seem to be showing some characteristics of Pisces. I do feel somewhat abandoned when he would rather spend time with friends. He tells me that I ask him too many questions. I just want him to be able to open up to me as I do with him.

You are indeed an Aquarius, with your Sun in the final degree of this Air sign. Some astrologers say that when you are born on the cusp between two signs, you feel impatient to move on to the next sign, and hence have some Piscean characteristics in your solar expression.

You also have Mercury in Pisces. You communicate from an emotional place. Your Mercury also sits in your Eighth House of Intimacy (as do your Aquarius Sun and Mars), making depth of connection a common theme in your discussions. “Opening up” is essential for you to feel close to someone.

The challenge is Saturn’s opposition to your Mercury. Saturn is the planet of restriction and structure. One the one hand, you feel compelled to “define” your relationship, as Saturn thrives on limits and walls. You want to know exactly where you stand with your boyfriend. Yet Saturn also puts a strain on communication. Especially in an opposition aspect — which often manifests in relationships — you often don’t feel “listened to” or understood. It is difficult for you to get your point across — and it’s already difficult because a Pisces Mercury already speaks in such an elliptical manner.

Combine the above with a Scorpio Moon and Cancer Rising, and the strong Water emphasis in your chart more than makes up for being an Aquarius.

Comment below: Were you born on the cusp? How do you feel the pull between two consecutive signs?

Well I definitely feel the pull at times. I was born on December 23, 1981. I have my Sun in Capricorn, moon in Sagittarius, and Mercury in Capricorn. However, I also have Uranus, Neptune and my 4th House in Sagittarius. So while I do have alot of fiery energy, I can also feel the earth pull me down at times. Thankfully, my descendant is Pisces, so that adds alittle water.

I’m a Gemini/Cancer cusp. Strictly speaking I am a Cancer but my birth date falls on the first days of Cancer. I always felt I had some Gemini qualities in me. That I could think like a Gemini sometimes. BUT once I learned more about astrology and did a birthchart I realized I have a Libran moon AND mercury in Gemini. So that may very well explain things without taking the whole cusp argument into the picture.

So in summary, like the original poster noticed, it seems that the rest of my chart may create the “cusp sign” influence more than being born close to the cusp sign.

im born the 2nd day of gemini, degree one, and, i definitely feel tres !toro! if i wasnt acquainted with astrology at all and didnt understand how fundamentally gemini does apply to me i would choose taurus like snap in a tossup bw the 2.

taurus rules my suns house and one thing taurus definitely is to me, is a PRECONDITION for functioning. it indeed ‘houses’ Bis as i know her and thus certain taurus standards must be met, rather like an appellation taureau contrôlée my mind and my gemininess cant flit about and do its thing. cant attain the boredom cures i need if i dont have my basic psyche primed and watered: all my senses- aesthetic surroundings, comfortable threads. its like mercury is in venus’s clothing, we need a fertile edenic settings in order to function otherwise if we are living in squalor (or wharton’s Lily-”the dinge!!”) functioning at any level becomes a weighty chore..fatigued, agitated, the works.

also, while flighty i have one major stubbornness that underpins tout which is refusal to change my way of living or apologize or revoke it either for friends or to perform better in society, all very vivre sa vie. otherwise im all balking and passivity.

i will only mention one last thing so t’inquiete, rar. it may be taurus cusp that colors the nature of my thoughts bc they all hinge on some sort of aesthetic and emotional lushness. nothing dry intellectual. in a literal sense i create a whole identity around say a headband. a certain self image w/ its own emotional reference and setting, like one film of many vignettes. and as gemini i have kaleidoscopic identities. i am too much living..in my mind lol.

to paraphrase what i read somewhere about Gem/Taurus cusp it is like tons of maserati spinning around the autobahn. not to self aggrandize thats what ‘they said’.
one thing thats for sure, its bad for the finances. tsktsktsk.

For years I thought I was a Libra. Born on the day the Sun passed over into Scorpio, mine lies in the first degree by just a few hours. So until I began studying astrology seriously, I just assumed I was a Libra according to the popular newspaper and magazine columns.

Lo and behold it was somewhat of a shock to discover the reason behind my motivations– not Libran love of debate, but rather Scorpion love of truth. I fight hard for what I believe not because I enjoy the fight (which exhausts me) but because I believe it (and am fixed as a rock in that regard).

However since Libra also lies on the cusp of my 5th, which houses my Sun, Mercury, Eros, Neptune and Vertex– all heavily aspected– Libra energy colours my world in a huge way. I see both sides of the story always, and wish I didn’t, sometimes.

So although I am of fixed Scorpio intent and opinion, I vacillate like a Libra between energies, and the creative (5th house) expression of those energies.

Hey Victoria,:-) Librans don’t just like *debate*–we value honestly very much so and expect it from everyone else if we’re going to be close it’s a must.
