Weekly Love and Sex Horoscope: December 24-30

The effects of this past Sunday’s Cancer Full Moon lingers on, as Mars and Jupiter continue to dance with each other and the Sun. On Monday, the Capricorn Sun opposes retrograde Mars in Cancer, and on Wednesday, Mars opposes Jupiter. And all this over the backdrop of a Winter Solstice ushered in by Mercury and Jupiter’s earlier entrance into Capricorn.

Mars would rather be in his granddaddy Saturn’s sign — where he is exalted — than in Mama’s Boy Cancer. In essence, the planets of opportunity and will are enjoying the fruits of their labor at the top of the mountain, while Mars is stuck rehashing the past in therapy … and guess who’s to blame for his problems? The Sun and Jupiter are getting all the girls — because they have status and fat wallets — while Mars feels nearly impotent. The shrink suggests that Mars not let Jupiter egg him on to walk up to the prettiest girl when he goes clubbing. Either her boyfriend will beat him up, or Mars won’t be able to “rise to the occasion” once he’s alone with her. Best to continue exploring why he keeps on choosing women who turn into his mother.

On Sunday, Venus enters Sagittarius. After spending most of December in hot-and-heavy Scorpio, the love planet gets a breath of fresh air, emerging from the dark, dank bedroom to go for a brisk walk in the park. Ah, the freedom! Scorpio was possessive and controlling, but now you can go ahead and do whatever you want! There are adventures to be had, and many willing travel companions.
