"The apex planet of a T-Square is the key. This is the planet that is both the driving force, and also the planet that is under the most pressure. Squares, remember, are action aspects; the apex planet, receiving two simultaneous squares, is under a great deal of pressure to act. In order for this planet to act in a focused and productive manner, however, it still needs an anchor. The "empty leg" of the T-Square is where this anchor is found. Some astrologers consider this point (the point opposite the apex planet) to be the 'release point' of the T-Square. I don't consider this to be an accurate description. A T-Square is about moving forward, taking action with the apex planet, not about diffusing or redirecting that action. What an awareness of the opposing point offers is an anchor of sorts, and a reference point to insure that the path and direction of the action taken is true. When a planet transits this point, creating a temporary Grand Cross, it often indicates an opportunity to unleash the power and energy of the T-Square in a very focused and directed manner because the transiting planet provides the awareness of balance for the Apex planet, and at the same time triggers the two squares."

-excerpt from www.therealastrology.com
"The Aspect Patterns Defined"

Again, focus on the obvious. If your "wounded healer" and destiny/life path lie in your 12th house and particularly, conjunct your Ascendant, research this thoroughly. The internet is a wonderful handy tool, makes this type of work so much easier.

This is a very special placement for Chiron and North Node and worthy of further study. Will definitely affect your subconscious drives and the first impression you give others, without even trying.

As for the orbs, an allowance of 10 degrees is okay and reasonably valid for a conjunction maybe, but when working with geometrical aspects the more exact the degree the better.

For quincunx (150 degrees) sextiles (60 degrees) semi-squares (45 degrees) and other less frequently used but often very interesting aspects (and enlightening ones) stick to no more than a 3 degree orb to keep things pure and simple.

The farther out of orb, the more shades of gray. I prefer to deal in black and white, being a Scorp.

Jara, what did you *think* was a T-Square in your chart?
I know Victoria said not to worry since it's too wide an orb to be a real T-Square.And she may be exactly right.
I'm not sure though.
Victoria, what is what you'd consider an orb worth considering with a T-Square?
That would be 2 oppostions and a 3rd squaring both planets in the oppostion--so we're really counting the orb you'd consider on oppostions and squares.
However, I always feel wider orbs than most people would count.Back when I was first learning astrology, I was about 16-17, and I had a rather beginner's book --10 degrees was what I learned was within orb, I didn't know different yet(and there was no internet)---I know most astrologers would disagree, but my point in mentioning it is that I always found it did hold up.
It's more of a continuum in my experience.
Obviously the closer the orb, the better, but a larger than "acceptable" orb doesn't negate that there's an aspect there imo.
So, I'm just curious Jara--maybe the T-square matters somewhat with your chart, you know?
I had actually never heard Jeff's "cure" exactly that way(the 4th sign in the modality)--I had heard about working on the matters that affect the house of the squaring sign).
If the 4th sign is what to look to, then, for me, it would be my 12th house which is ruled by Jupiter since Sagitarius is on the cusp but is also Capricorn, and Cap would be the one in my situation I believe.
All I have in the 12th is Chiron, and my North Node, which itself is so close to the 1st House, it's really more 1st House.
Anyone have any thoughts for me?

Most definitely. But I recognise that just because you love someone, doesn't mean you have to let them abuse you and with him, it's not possible to have any kind of contact without abuse creeping into it. It hurts like hell but I know that my life is so much better without him and that the way I feel now (utterly miserable) will pass.

I would rather have no relationship at all than be verbally and emotionally abused every 2nd or 3rd day and physically abused every few months.

The thing that I find absolutely amazing is that although he has done some really awful things to me, there is still love there. I mean I don't want to be near him anymore because I don't think he will ever change, but I still love him and on some level probably always will.

Besides we've got karma. It's in our charts and I went to a tarot reader recently who without my prompting started talking about the karmic situation that I'm going through right now.

The upside is that it has made me much wiser, more sure of myself and when I stop feeling so miserable, much stronger.

OK, so let me try and understand this. I don't have a T square but my ex-partner (the mad bull as I like to call him) has Chiron in Aries (18deg)in the 4th house (Conjunct IC) squaring Moon in Cancer (20deg) in the 6th house (conjunct Descendent) and Uranus in Libra (19deg) (conjunct Midheaven).

He's a living nightmare on a regular basis as he's got Borderline Personality Disorder.

For him to "overcome" his T-square he would need to do 12th house Capricorn type stuff. I'm guessing the interpretation here but does that mean he would have to take responsiblity and work hard at getting through all of his hidden, unconscious behaviour? Or perhaps take on responsibility and work hard in service of humanity? Or maybe get into spiritual studies? Mind you the twelfth house also rules prisons but so far, all he has worked hard at is sending himself to prison ;-) Mind you he doesn't take responsiblity for it - it's everyone else's fault from his father who abused him as a child to me for calling the police on him.

In this case would you look at all planets in the 12th house or only planets within 5 degrees each way? The only thing he has in the 12th house is the North node of the moon, but it's nowhere near his Ascendant which is the other part of the T-Square.

Actually when I think about the core way he screws his life up, he really would benefit by taking responsibility and working diligently at fixing all of the unconscious stuff that drives his bad behaviour.
