The chakrastrology of relationships

August 3, 2007 by kishner

I just got back from a three-day training on chakras by Anodea Judith. Chakras are energy centers in the etheric body that are associated with different levels of experience.

For the purposes of this discussion, the second chakra relates to emotions and sexuality (desire and pleasure), and the fourth chakra concerns relationships, connectedness and love. The 2nd is associated with the Water element (Water signs include Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces), and the 4th is associated with the Air element (Air signs include Gemini, Libra and Aquarius).

The energy of the 4th chakra is more refined, not as dense as the 2nd … Air is lighter than Water.

How do you experience the relationship between sex and love in your life? Do your emotional and erotic needs (Scorpio) conflict with your more refined needs for balance and beauty in relationships (Libra)?

Ugh.. balance.. not beauty.. but balance. Where does one find it?

  2. proserpine says:

Hey Jeffrey, I could have sworn the *3rd* chakra is the heart chakra.
Anyway–answering your question invoves more than a few sentences.
Suffice it to say for right now, that I’ve had to really work at balance and connecting love and sexual matters.

  3. Jeffrey Kishner says:

proserpine, the 3rd chakra is between the belly button and the solar plexus — the Will (Mars/Fire element). Heart is 4th.

  4. curious says:

are you implying that Scorpio is about sex and Libra is about love?
