How do you feel about guest bloggers?

July 23, 2007 by kishner

I’m going to be at a training from Tuesday July 31 to Thursday August 2, and I am wondering what to do with the blog. I don’t write posts in advance, so it’s unlikely I’ll have three days’ worth of material to publish while I’m gone. Would you rather take a 3-day vacation from Seduction Central, or read some guest bloggers’ take on the astrology of relationships while I’m gone?

Unsure if she likes it or not, but I think BlahBlah/Jara would make an awesome stand-in.

  2. cappy lady says:

Noctule, I think you would be a great choice as well.

  3. Noctule says:

Except I’m blind as a bat (noctule/nyctalus species, hawhawhaw, I’m so funny…) when it comes to relationships and advanced astrology, sure. I can almost imagine me giving advices. “You, uh… Have the, y’know, opposition thingy and the orb-thingy is tight, so it means that… Well, it’s not too well, and I’m almost sorry for you. I think you need a cheesecake.” I doubt that readers would appreciate that.

  4. exclusion.blue says:

Modesty is a virtue only if one doesn’t have any other… :)

  5. blahblah says:

Thanks for the nomination, Noctule. Oh and hahahahahahahahaha at your sample “blog entry.” ;)

I agree with Cappy lady. You would be a great choice, as well. Really, anybody who has been commenting frequently. There are many insightful readers of Jeff’s blog.

    And ROFL @ exclusion.blue

When I first read your statement, it struck me as really clever. My next thought was, “Isn’t modesty MORE of a virtue when one has so much bragging material?”

And what about false modesty? Am I over-thinking this?

  6. scorpioce@comcast.net says:

I think it would be pretty darn good to read something different from time to time. Go for it.

  7. Jeffrey Kishner says:

Scorpioce, Don’t you read other astrology blogs? If you ever get bored of me, there’s an entire astroblogosphere out there.

  8. blahblah says:

Scorpioce, I don’t quite understand your last comment. You want variety of perspectives? content? topics?

  9. proserpine says:

This is a very late comment here I know, but I have to say I agree with Jara that– modesty is a definite virtue to have when we have other “bragging points”.
(or think we do, or know we do, but don’t utilize them etc.etc.)
    Dig?

  10. exclusion.blue says:

The whole idea standing behind that sentence I’ve said is that one should never try top diminish it own potentials or capabilities, especially if they’re being recognized and confirmed by others.
There’s a fine balance between modesty and bragging.

I’ll try to be a bit more serious when saying anything, cause this way I’m not being properly understood.
